Das Scheit - Superbitch

Whenever I get a new promo from Black Lotus a little piece of me dies. They seem to have a big problem signing bands of any worth, often opting to pump out carbon copies of whatever genre they wish to soil at the moment. But even by Black Lotus' low standards, Das Scheit manages to outdo the rest when it comes to overall worthlessness. They bear an ironclad grasp on the art of trepidation and show no intention of letting go. Das Scheit are appropriately titled: it means "The Shit" in German. In urban slang, "The Shit" would mean that the band would be considered great. In reality, "The" does not apply, Das Scheit is just plain ol' shit.

I would like to say that Das Scheit sounds like a poor man's Rammstein, but I wouldn't want to insult a poor man in such a way. The band goes far beyond being amateurish, they venture into child-like territory. Just look at the songtitles below. Catpiss? Hardbody? They even have the nerve to use net speak with About U. Unfortunately, 7 Seconds is longer than the amount mentioned. Don't get me started on the actual album title. Two songs back-to-back have the word Walk in the title. That bugs me to no end, kinda like how there's Dreamer Deciever followed by Deciever on Judas Priest's Sad Wings Of Destiny (rest assured, comparison to that classic album ends there). I will give them credit for Until I've Been Forgotten, they must have known that everyone will forget about them once the album ends. The songs themselves manage to be even worse. This is shit a bunch of pre-teens would bang out on their low-end equipment after listening to Marilyn Manson's greatest hits. Speaking of which, the band photo is ridiculous. They look like rejects from a Marilyn Manson look-alike contest. Flock Of Seagulls looked more menacing. Now, you must be thinking that there must be something positive to mention. Well, the packaging is recyclable. I'll give them that.

Damn you Black Lotus for tainting my ears yet again. Will you ever learn?
