I once wrote to Chas in 1994 about not being able to get Deep Red Alert anywhere.I explained I was a long time reader and had virtually everything he wrote(which I still have) even going all the way accross town to a seedy comicbook shop to get one missing issue of Deep Red. All except the Alerts wh...

I've seen "both" versions and which one would be the best is entirely subjective and that tends to be evenly divided. I preferred the original unaltered version but would have liked it with the sound mix that the theatrical version had. Both versions take goddamn forever to set up the meag...

WHITEOUT the graphic novel was actually pretty good. No it isn't horror and that blame lies with the studio for marketing it in that manner, it's a mystery albeit a gruesome one. I had some hopes for the film but every review I've read isn't much better than Shane's.

I have this new German DVD and PQ is good. It has decent colour definition compared to all the crappy boots with the exception of the jarring appearance of the inserted VHS footage throughout. It seemed uncut to me. It'll do until the studio with distro rights releases a definitive version.

I know it's on the new Lewton boxset coming from Warner Bros on 1/29. So you may want to rent it as it's excellent. Lewton did more with fewer resources before Roger Corman ever came along. In the interim you may be able to watch it on YouTube or one of the other VOD sites.

I always wondered why too. Get out of the house? Away from the wife and kids? Want to know what the last film I saw in a theater was? The revival screening of In The Realm Of The Senses. That was two weeks ago. I was dragged to see The Grudge. During that I said "NO MORE." I don't even ack...

Uwe Boll is quickly becoming the Ed wood of the 21st century. :D Without the charm of course. House Of The Dead is a Bong smoking classic. Meaning all the production staff must have been on the bong while making it. It's such an outright mess, and so fucking crap it makes many shitty zero budget SOV...

Lolita Vibrator Torture was available on Japanese VHS at the time of it's release. That's pretty much where all the bootlegs have been coming from. No subs available of course. It's an okay film. It's reputation is more interesting than the results onscreen. A typical Japanese sexual predator on the...

Hi DylanDog, We hope to have news on other films of Haisayau Sato soon, but not Lolita: Vibrator Torture. I have Lolita on bootleg DVD-R. Will you not be picking it up because of the actresses perceived age? Although the character is around 15 the actress was 20 years old at the time. I can underst...

Mordum is a big fucking steaming pile of poo. The Jerry Springer show does gore, with a bunch of drunken fuckwits on and behind the camera. Saw

I say see the bit torrent boots. It's been getting some pretty scathing advance reviews. So you're on your own. I think it's a pretty good popcorn flick It lacks logic but makes up for it in tension. Something rare in mainstream horror. The U.S "R" cut is missing 25 seconds tops. A shot of...

Ebert's final comment:

"They may be right that some of us are puppets, but they're wrong that all of us are fools, and dead wrong that it doesn't matter."

I'd like to know how he got that "it doesn't matter" out of the film. It's a fucking satire Roger.

I didn't see the need for it. I think he was trying to say that Manson's influence survives to this very day. That's what I got out of it. I have the Czech DVD. Decent A/V quality.
