Stoner Rock

I haven't seen a Seattle stoner rock band play in Victoria for a long time. Here is some of Victoria's recent offerings. MENDOZZA-Friday, February 13 EASTSIDE TAVERN Olympia

I am in no way connected or affiliated with this band. I just think they are one of the best heavy bands to come out of the Vancouver area lately, and I can't keep my enthusiasm contained. Here is a myspace link. Seriously, amazing live.

Nice.
I saw Dismember on Saturday here in Victoria. Cool show. Small, intimate venue.
Helix is coming on November 24.
Ya'll should come on up.

It doesn't snow in Victoria. Doesn't really rain all that much either. We have more homeless per capita than most places.

I wish Seattle bands would really come up north, to Canada, eh. Victoria is a good town with good bars and good support for heaviness.

Helix is playing Sugar Nightclub here on the 24th. Should be wicked!

Still good. Trust me. I'm actually in Victoria, not Vancouver, but the two scenes definitely cross over. The Cobalt in Vancouver is a cool bar. Alot of Victoria bands play there. I miss the days when Seattle bands came up to Victoria. I got to see many famous "grunge bands" at small clubs before the...

I've had the pleasure of seeing Strapping Young Lad a few times now, in local clubs. The dude has THE BEST AND THE LOUDEST EQUIPMENT. Musician's earplugs highly recommended.

I have to go watch Maury now.

Hey guys. I live in Victoria, and get to see the Dayglos on a fairly consistent regularity. Cretin does a very good job covering vocals. They have eight albums. Feed Us Fetus has sold 110,000 copies, yet they still can't get an industry break. Their shows rule, every time. If you haven't seen them, ...

Thanks. I miss Seattle. I'm 38 and really enjoyed the grunge thing when I was in my twenties. I never see Seattle bands come up to Victoria anymore. One of the most memorable shows I've ever seen was back in the day, Moukie Blaylock(Motherlovebone/Pearl Jam) open for Alice in Chains at Harpo's, a no...

I'm hoping to come down from Victoria for this in April.
I have a record for possesion of weed though. Do you guys think I'll have a problem at the border?
I haven't been down since before 911. I don't know how strict the border gaurds are anymore.
