That's ok, you can be ther in spirit! Just buy or rent the flicks in question, if you don't already own them, and if the Australian Overlords will allow them into the country (sorry Mate, these Dvd's are questionable. We better keep them).

Hmm. Sounds like a good time with a nice lineup, but odd that they should hold it nearly 2 full weeks AFTER Halloween. That's what I thought too, and it usually is close to Halloween. Maybe they didn't want to lose people to Halloween parties that night. That's cool though, as it will give me time ...

All Freakin Night Horror Night In Olympia, Wa November 13th

For all of you that can get out this way, the All Freakin Night program at the Olympia Film Festival looks to be a great one. They start at Midnight on the 12th of November (Technically a Sunday at that point), and run 5 crazy flicks until the wee hours of the morning. It's always a fun time, with c...

Ahhh, now there's a title I haven't heard for ages! I have a soft spot for this flick since I saw it as an 8 or 9 year old kid at the drive in. True, it's not very good, but I enjoy it way more than the Hollywood junk that gets passed off as horror these days. Christopher Lee has said he doesn't rem...

HIM, last night at The Premiere. I know, I know, it's not what you'd expect from me, but I have varying musical tastes. Good show too, complete with a chick getting knocked out in the process of crowd surfing (poor girl, didn't even get to do it, she just went splat on her head).

I'm an old school, old fool like Hodgie, and I too loved the original when I was a kid. I did check it out last week, and it kept my interest. It can't compare to the original, as this one is too serious, and Townsend is no McGavin. But I thought it was better than average for TV, and the digital ca...

Your 5 Fave Halloween Flicks

If you were having friends over to watch scary stuff, what 5 would you pick? In the spirit of The All Freakin Night program at The Olympia Film Festival here is Washington state, where they run 5 scary flicks in a row starting at Midnight, I will be doing a home version. I would pick: Night Of The L...

Those wacky Japanese, bless em, will figure this out. They have a very perverted culture, although it's also restrained at the same time (digital fogging), so you'll see someone do it.

If you're talking "based on true events" type of films, I too give my vote for Deranged. As far as fictional movies go, Maniac would be my favorite. Savini is 2 for 2 in my book.

The Director from Rockstar's Manhunt game (he is the guy who forces you to be in sick, snuff style survival game). That guy was such a twisted fuck (I believe it was the actor who played the original Hannibal Lecter in Manhunter)! This is the video game movie someone needs to make, not Doom.

I haven't got a DS yet, as I am making sure Nintendo doesn't plan to upgrade yet again, as they have been doing every year lately for the Gameboy. But I did play this at the store, and it was very entertaining! I was suprised, as I too thought it would be silly. Now we just need to do this concept w...

I saw this excellent flick at The Seattle International Film Festival this past summer, and it was the best! The show I went to was capacity seating, and the crowd was really into it. As soon as the gray market DVD hit eBay, I snagged it. Just the right amount of story, plenty of action, cool charac...

I have to go with the classic Return Of The Living Dead. Also, has a hot, naked Linnea Quigley (not sure on the spelling), before she became a nasty skank (looks wise, I know nothing of her as a person).

You got that right Bro. I also like how he had that sword pose going on throughout the flick, which was the same pose from the front of the Versus poster. Same director, so it makes sense. He barely used the sword, which was kind of funny to me. I say Magnum PI 2006 should be his next role!

Saw this fine film at SIFF on the big screen, and it rocked! Not sure how it would play while watching it alone, so gather some friends. Has Don Frye of Ultimate Fighting fame as the best American character (and perhaps ANY character) in a Godzilla movie ever, and the demise of the Americanized Godz...

Saw this at the Valley 6 Drive In in Auburn, Washington as part of the film fest last year, and it was excellent! Some people bust on the end, but I thought it was fine. It had a great old school vibe, and an FX guy from the Italian splatter flicks of the 70's and 80's. Can't wait for the U.S. DVD t...

Yeah, Hustle is getting released very soon in the U.S., but Miramax may mess it up like they did the English language version of Soccer. My favorite Stephen Chow flick has to be Love On Delivery (which has Chow fighting evil disguised as...Garfield!), and I think he's at his best with Ng Man Tat (th...

I agree. I saw at SIFF(one of the best film fests in the country), and it rocked! They ran a screening of all 3, but I couldn't do it as I had other fish to fry. I have heard they are ok, but not as good as the first (the story of most sequels anyway). Check it out if you haven't already.

That's what I heard too. But I liked the remake of Dawn a lot, and Texas for the most overall. Too bad this new one went for the supernatural route, as I would like to see Hooper go back to rural style horror. The original pissed off so many people at the time, that I imagine trying to sell such a f...

I found one of the worst (but in a good way) kung fu flicks of all time, which is hard to find, but soooooo classic! It is called "Deadly Hands of Kung Fu", and it is a crap fest with a difference. It is the epic tale of Bruce Lee, who has gone to Hell, and has to fight against it's the evil ruler. ...
