Saw this at a matinee on Saturday and really enjoyed it as well. I had high hopes for the movie and wasn't disappointed. The cast in this was absolutely terrific. Plus it was great to see Dolph Lundgren and Arnold back on the big screen again. I wasn't really put off by the CGI splatter since it is ...

Finally caught up with this one and agree with everyone that this is an awesome movie. This is without a doubt the best movie I've seen so far this year. It would be hard to describe this movie in words so I won't bother. Just go check it out for yourselves. The acting, story and visuals in this mov...

Finally caught up with this one at a matinee over the weekend, but wound up seeing it in 2-D instead (and agree with Remo that it plays just as good without the 3-D). I loved the first two movies (as well as all the other Pixar films) and this one was no exception. It's great to see that the Pixar m...

Man I really want to see this one since I've been hearing nothing but positive things about it, but I dread having to sit through a 3-hour movie. Besides I still have a few other movies to catch up on first. Hopefully I'll get to see it soon.

Well I did see this for free as promised and don't really have anything different to say from what Remo already stated. I actually found this movie to be somewhat boring and almost nodded off about halfway through it. The effects by KNB were nothing to get excited about either. The best part of the ...

I don't think anyone would blame you for giving up on TWILIGHT Remo. I've enjoyed reading your reviews over the years and they've definitely shaped my decisions when it comes to seeing movies. I'd rather hear about more worthwhile movies than anything else in this series. As I stated before, I never...

Really that bad, Remo? I was looking forward to this one and was hoping it would deliver with Rodriguez being involved (I was one of the few people on here that actually didn't mind THE FACULTY). I got some "movie cash" towards this when I picked up the new PREDATOR Blu-Ray so at least it wont cost ...

Iron man 2

Saw this in IMAX the other day and thought it was awesome. I thought it was every bit as good as the original film plus had a better story. Robert Downey Jr. puts in another great performance and Don Cheadle also makes a great replacement for Terrence Howard. We get to see more of Samuel L. Jackson ...

no desire to see this :) You wouldn't be missing much Kim. I went into this expecting to absolutely hate it and was ready to tear into Jackie Earle Haley. In all honesty it wasn't as bad as I anticipated, but it still pales in comparison to the original. After going to see this remake I went back a...

Thanks Remo! I never saw the original COTT and had no real interest in this remake, but reading your review made me think otherwise. So I took this in at a matinee (in 2-D) the other day and had a blast. I agree with your point on Sam Worthington, but I even thought he was better here than in AVATAR...

Finally caught up to this on video. One of my local Movie Gallery stores was having a "going out of business" sale and I stocked up on a bunch of titles including this one (which wound up costing me just $5). I didn't hate it as much as Remo since I already knew ahead of time what I was getting into...

Tim Burton's ALICE IN WONDERLAND

So nobody else on here has been to see this yet? I saw this in IMAX 3-D over the weekend and really enjoyed it. The first fifteen minutes or so are slow, but once you get past that it is a fun ride. The visuals in this movie are absolutely incredible and features some of the best mixture of animatio...

Dude, what planet are you from? :) THE RUNAWAYS is an upcoming movie based on the 1970's band of the same name which Joan Jett was a member of. It is supposed to receive a wide release on April 9. I'm actually interested in seeing it just to see how well the cast works out and because I like Joan Je...

What Remo said! I caught this yesterday and liked it as well. I only saw the original once many years ago and can only remember being somewhat disappointed and thought it was one of Romero's lesser movies (but I do have to admit it was at least better than SEASON OF THE WITCH). This remake does keep...

I had thought about going to see this today but never got around to it. But reading your post Remo makes me think I'm not missing anything. I'd still like to read your review (if you're up to it) before making a final decision. Just curious....was your disappointment on the level of AVATAR or was th...

Thanks Chick. I was waiting to hear from someone who was a fan of the original to say something positive before going. I'll probably hit it up this Friday. Umm...who is Chick? :) Just kidding. Yes by all means go see it Chris. Might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I had a good time. Let me know w...

THE WOLFMAN remake...go see it!

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned THE WOLFMAN remake yet...and I was expecting Remo to chime in with it:). I caught this at a matinee over the weekend and really enjoyed it. Most people on here probably know I grew up on the classic Universal monsters and am still a fan (owning all of them on DVD)....

Thanks Kim! Yeah, it's hard to believe we've known each other for that long. Where have all the years gone? I sometimes miss the good old days of trading bootlegs, but I'm quite happy with all the discs in my collection so I can't complain too much:)

Thanks again for the birthday wishes.

Awesome recap Remo. I had mine ready to go but I was waiting for you to do the honors before I chimed in:) Now for my turn.... IMO 2009 was a much better year than 2008 when it comes to genre films. It also gave me more of a reason to get out to the theater more often (unlike last year when I only m...

What movies were in the Paul Naschy set? P.S. They're ALL better than CRIMSON (which he didn't write OR direct, and in which he had only a supporting role--top billing or not--so that one doesn't even count as a "Naschy film" in my book). The five movies in the set are EXORCISM, BLUE EYES OF THE BR...

Stuff I've been watching lately

I've recently acquired a bunch of titles for my collection during the recent holiday sales. I bought a bunch of used DVDs for dirt cheap at MovieStop as well as some other places. I spent the last few weeks of 2009 watching some old favorites as well as finally catching up to one I hadn't seen yet. ...

I'm making it a point to see it all the way through this year. As b...

R.I.P. Chas Balun

What a crappy way to end the year! When I first heard about this I was hoping it would turn out to be a hoax, but this (along with other things I read) pretty much confirms it: http://www.fangoria.com/home/news/15-rip/4872-rip-chas-balun-1948-2009.html Geez, that makes three horror icons we lost jus...
