I drunk text Elvis songs. And no one seems to get the genius of it. There's a fuzzy, wavy line separating genius and 'tard. It's for those around you to decide where you stand at any given drunken moment. If those around you are also shitfaced, the line blurs even farther. It's an infinitely comple...

Suck it, wetlanders!

Thanks to the current economic slum and the collapsed real-estate market in Las Vegas, I just bought a condo behind the Bellagio for about $40 a square foot. I'm getting on a plane tomorrow to sign the papers. It's 100 degrees and there are thousands of swimming pools full of nearly-naked chicks. Fu...

Santana in Vegas

FYI, if you're a fan of Carlos Santana, he just started a TWO YEAR gig as the "house band" at The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel in Vegas. I think it's been right around 30 years since I've seen him live. I'm definitely going to check the show out the next time I'm down there. Looks like tic...

I signed up to see if it might be a valuable marketing tool, but haven't accessed the account in months. It seems pretty stoopid. Age doesn't make much difference. There are new-old-stock tubes around that work as good as the day they were manufactured, and there are brand new tubes that die in a few days. It's all about whether the tube leaks. Once air gets inside, they're fucked. Electrons don't move in air.

So many fuckups...where to start? :) Back when I was a teenager, one of my first jobs was working at a gas station. This was when stations still worked on cars and LONG before it was legal to pump your own gas. I mainly pumped gas & checked the oil, mounted & balanced a few tires, and closed...

Email spam is definitely the scourge of western civilization but every once in awhile, the spammers come up with something halfway creative. As it's somewhat germane to the broader topic, here's a Rolling Stone article that has a pretty decent timeline of the AIG meltdown and how things played out. Reasonably factual and a lot less "manifesto-y" than a lot of the comments that regularly appear on this forum :) http://www.rollin...

No, it's just a standard line of credit. I don't have a dime's worth of equity in anything yet. :) I have it hooked to one of my my business checking accounts as overdraft protection. It came in handy when I bought my house. Had to borrow about $20k to flesh out the cash I had saved for a down payme...

That's insane in this economy. If anyone needs cash, they should look at a personal line of credit from their bank. My line at BOA is under 8%.

Here's why the music industry sucks

I'm heading down to Vegas again in a month or so and decided to check the concert calendar to see if there's anything worthwhile coming up. About the only thing interesting at all is Eric Clapton & Steve Winwood. Front row center is about $150. Do-able I guess. Most shows down there are about th...
