Hard Candy?

Being billed as a horror/thriller about a 14 year old girl and a pedophile. It's at the Egyptian right now, I think thats the only place its playing around here. I have read awesome reviews on it as well as really shitty ones so I thought I would ask if anyone knew anything about it? Given the subje...

You know, it DID kind of seem that way. They made the terrorist look like they were falling apart anyhow. But some of that was due to the uprising of the passengers. How far away from target did it land? That's what threw me off, they may have been heading down to hit the white house or to get under...

Also, it was true to life by having so many real people play in the movie. The ground people, air traffic and military, were played by themselves and the stewardess' were all real flight attendants. I am sure that they families of those involved got a substantial amount of money to share their stori...

So, I don't know if I want to see this one. Is it too soon? Is it possible to accurately depict the events on the plane despite the fact that no one will ever know for sure what happened? I know there were phone conversations and texts from the passengers but is that enough to base it on? I just kno...

Not bad, but not great. The atmoshere and soundtrack were pretty good as was the cinematography but the CGI gore and some of the bluescreen stuff really brought the overall experience down for me. 2.5/5 I agree except I would say at least a 3. CGI always throws me off but the atmosphere was great. ...

Damn, THAT was quick! Thanks, Achimba! Well, now that I've SEEN the episode? Not quite true that they don't mention the name "Scientology"--they use it blatantly from beginning to end, and when they tell the story of the brainwashed alien souls, the screen is emblazoned throughout with &q...

Well, Im gunna take a guess and say he was thinking a horror movie, Garrett has always come off to me as someone that would be great to work with, and having a hand in almost any horror movie would be fun! ;)

I want to say that "the Truth About Mormons" was the only time they actually said the name of any religion they were making fun of. I don't remember them actually SAYING "scientology" in the original Tom Cruise episode. They ran that episode for what seemed like a dozen times a w...

I think they rushed the production to get it out while younger people were still very upset with the government. I think it could have been more, it had some great lines but somehow weak dialogue. That chic cried way too much, there were several times when we were thinking "shut up already!&quo...

I think this is a glimpse into what goes on in Ryan's apartment when no one's around. He says shit like this to himself, slaps himself in the face and weeps. I wonder if he put a wig on when he wrote this. Also, rhyming "bitch" with "anything"? Good one. HAHHAHA. Accompanied wit...

Tons of fun! I wasn't feeling too good last night and the theater was WAY too warm (don't they usually keep horror theaters cold? They should) but I still very much enjoyed myself. I think I may even have to go again when I am feeling a little more up to par. True to the genre, true to the fans; one...

I assume that thing you can't handle seeing in movies is the same thing I have a very low tolerance for as well. The original had it, though brief and not very graphic. I hope the remake follows suit. Good to know it's not just me. Not from what Ive read, it's longer, more graphic and twice as bad.

Yea, no one can really review horror well. And I don't really agree with Ebert on ANY movie, so Im not that worried.

Just read some reviews that basically crapped on the movie. They also werent so polite as to not give away the one big scene; sounds like the one thing I can't handle seeing in movies... oh well...

still excited!

Transamerica

Not really the beaten track but not horror... so..

Anyone seen this or heard anything about it? It looks like it could be funny, but the plot sounds so all over the place that I'm not really sure what they are going for. I'm just wondering if it's worth my $$.

Thanks.

Every year I think about going but when I start to weigh out the cost and travel I never seem to be able to justify going. I almost went with some friends last year that came back saying that it was absolutely amazing, they even got to meet New Order. Damn. Oh well, maybe this year.
