Columbia Tri-Star is including commentaries, and a Making-of featurette. Cross your fingers!!

Eternal Darkness Films Competition

I have acquired a VHS copy of "Carnal Noise," an entry into The Eternal Darkness Films Competition by semi-finalist Francisco Aliwalas - who just happens to be my co-worker's brother. I'll be sure to post my thoughts after viewing it. We could be looking at big things from this guy in just...

I'm trashed off my ass right now but I can say with absolute certainty that my Universe Laser & Video HK DVD of this movie is ALL REGION AND NTSC. It even plays on my historically anal retentive panasonic.

[OT?]: Jeremiah

I'm wondering if Showtime's post-apocalyptic offering is worth checking out. While the choice of actors frightens me (especially after seeing Luke Perry in that Bermuda Triangle TV movie last year), the recent dearth of "after the bomb" fare (good or bad) has me interested. At worst, I thi...

When I bring up this subject, it goes over like a tumbleweed in a ghost town. Someone else mentions it, and it sparks a big thread. Go figure!

Anyhow, vol.1 of the translated manga is out, courtesy of Viz. A must for fans of the film.

Their requirements are a bit stiff, though. You must own a DVD-ROM drive and a scanner... that knocks me out of the running!

I'm a bit more partial to the Agents of Oblivion CD, but Deadboy is great stuff too.

Image's "Voices From Beyond" & York Home Video's "Dead Waters" DVDs

It looks like Mariano Baino's "Dark Waters" has been released on US DVD by York Home Video under the title "Dead Waters." I believe Mortado made me a VHS copy of this film ages ago... I barely remember it! Has anyone seen the DVD yet? Also, Image has inexplicably released Fulci's...

get Jason X on Morpheus

The film won't be officially released until April 26th, but if you are curious (and patient) enough, you can download it now off of Morpheus. I don't know about you, but I'd rather spend the $8.25 on booze instead of a ticket to a questionable-at-best movie.

If you ask me, Anchor Bay will have a tough time topping the best DVD release of the film thus far, by Dutch Filmworks. The only thing it's really missing is the audio commentary track with Tom Savini and Chris Stavrakis which can be found on the UK (BMG) DVD release. You could also argue in favor o...

I just tested four different Universe DVD's on my unmodified Panasonic RV20. All regional labeling was totally accurate.

The results are as follows:

UZUMAKI - R3 (NO PLAY)

ANOTHER HEAVEN - R3 (NO PLAY)

VIOLENT COP (the Anthony Wong film) - R0 (PLAYED FINE)

AUDITION - R3 (NO PLAY)

With the knowledge of this, watching the opening when his character is viciously tormented can't help but make you wonder if acting out this torment somehow contributed to Scuddamore's...
