I saw this the other day as well and pretty much feel the same way as Remo. A lot of people thought TERMINATOR 3 was unnecessary and a decade too late, but I thought it fit in perfectly with the previous films and turned out to be the most entertaining movie that Arnold had done in recent years (not...

Been busy playing catch up lately and forgot to comment on this one. I was fortunate to catch this before it left town (in a theater with a crowd of three). This movie was absolutely awesome and hilarious at the same time. I loved the first CRANK and this one certainly didn't disappoint. Not only di...

Damn, I had planned on seeing this over the weekend but something came up. Not to worry...I do plan to catch it later in the week. From your review Remo, it sounds like I'd enjoy this one since I loved the first film. BTW, that review from "the opposition" wouldn't happen to be from your o...

wow. great review! I'm curious yet afraid. I'll need to find someone to go with me to this or I'll be forced to wait until it comes out on DVD...not doing this one alone! :D See it now instead of waiting for the DVD. It is well worth it and you won't be disappointed. I think we might have a contend...

Well, I saw this last weekend and could've posted about it then if I weren't such a lazy bastard:) Still I'm surprised nodoby else commented on this one yet either.... I have to agree that this was probably Zack Snyder's best film yet. Like Remo, I haven't read the source material but I plan to even...

HA! Well it looks like this "remake" might me making an exit from the multiplexes before too long. After being the #1 movie on its opening weekend, it got its ass kicked last weekend by MADEA GOES TO JAIL and fell all the way to #6. Now its not even on the top ten! Funny thing is that the ...

You scored on the previews. All I got were some crappy Seth Rogen stoner comedy, witch mountain with The Rock and the Watchmen (great use of that song by Muse in the watchmen trailer BTW) I actually went to see the full length Transformers 2 trailer that was supposed to be playing with Friday the 1...

I'm not sure how I felt about this one after seeing it. I grew up watching the original films and they are part of what made me a horror fan. One of my favorite childhood memories was seeing JASON LIVES at the drive-in during its original run on a double-bill with A NEW BEGINNING. I enjoyed all of t...

THE UNIVITED (2009)....you could do worse

Went to a matinee showing of this today. I have never seen the original Korean film that this was supposedly based on and probably never will. For some reason, the Asian horror scene just isn't my cup of tea (the only films I've seen that come close are the American remakes of THE RING and THE GRUDG...

Thanks for the birthday wishes guys (and gal). Stalwart indeed! It's hard to believe that me (along with a few of you guys) have been with this group for 11 years and counting. We've been through a lot of good times (along with a few bad ones) and have shared some great discussions over the years. I...

Oh, by the way, was I the only one who got stuck with the trailer for something called A HAUNTING IN CONNECTICUT? No Remo, you weren't the only one. I forgot that's another trailer that I saw in addition to the ones I listed above (along with one for some animated 3-D movie that's name escapes me n...

So are you saying that the LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT remake is a reality and getting ready to come out?!? I've heard rumors for awhile that it was in production, but I had no idea it was coming out so soon. And no, I didn't see the trailer for that but I did see a bunch of others: UNBORN (skipping it!)...

I think the director or producer had stored the cut elements for all this time hoping to get them reinstated in the film. Hmmm....I was under the impression that Paramount had this footage sitting in their vault all these years. But since it was an independent film, I guess it would make sense for ...

This had good use of 3D but as a movie itself it kind of stunk. If you have any desire to see this do so in a 3D theater. Caught this at an afternoon matinee yesterday, and yes....the 3D effects are VERY impressive. Some of the stuff is pretty subtle while others are "in-your-face" terrif...

Original MY BLOODY VALENTINE now on DVD.....UNCUT!!!

Finally got the DVD for the original version of MY BLOODY VALENTINE today and actually saw it for the first time ever! Lionsgate gave this film a nice anamorphic transfer and the picture quality is very impressive given the age and low-budget nature of the movie. But the big news is that they have a...

Thanks for posting that Remo. I had no plans to see this either and reading that review made me feel comfortable that I made the right choice. I'll save my money until next weekend and see MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3-D instead. Even if it does suck at least it's in 3-D so I'm getting more for my money tha...

2009 Movie Viewing Log Thread

Okay, let's see if I can keep up with it this year. No repeat viewings here...a movie is only on the list the first time I see it during the year. 1. 1/1 - RED DRAGON (DVD) 2. 1/4 - FREEDOM WRITERS (DVD) 3. 1/4 - INVINCIBLE (2006, DVD) 4. 1/8 - GONE BABY GONE (DVD) 5. 1/8 - 3:10 TO YUMA (2007, DVD) ...

Very good recap Remo (as always)! I pretty much gave up on the theater this year as well. Unless it was something I really want to go see, I passed in favor of the DVD. That along with some things going on in my personal life severly curtailed my movie-going experiences for 2008. Hard to believe I s...

This year, I decided to watch the HALLOWEEN series over a period of several nights. I watched the movies in order (with the exception of parts 3 and 6 which I unfortunately don't have in my collection) then finished off with Rob Zombie's remake. Not real exciting but hey, you did say "Halloween...

Well said Remo. I have to agree that I've been burned out by the genre offerings this year and have not seen a single horror film in the theater. The only new horror release I saw this year was the direct-to-dvd remake of DAY OF THE DEAD, which made me wish I hadn't even bothered. Sad to say I've on...

I've never seen the original, but I have to say that I'm pretty excited about this remake. Even if it does turn out to be bad, how can you pass up a slasher flick in 3-D? I've always wanted to see FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 3 in 3-D but the opportunity never presented itself to me. But that may change if ...

Thanks! That wouldn't by any chance be the same film as FLESHEATER (with Bill Hinzman) would it? Also, does it really have both catalog numbers? Just wondering....
