I've heard those rumours of a 'chemical dependancy' but then I've heard them debunked by various sources many times. One particular assertion - that half of DAY's effects budget went up his nose - is fucking absurd. Its a shame ol' Savini didn't make the move to L.A. when Nicotero asked him too - he...

Here's what I've been reading on the net for the past few months. Savini put out a short film on DVD around Oct last year, the first episode in a proposed ongoing anthology called CHILL FACTOR. I've read really good reviews but haven't seen it myself. Anyone? There is, of course, his cameo in LAND. ...

Oh, I'm fully boned up for this one, just a pity that the DAWN and TCM remakes had better, more enticing trailers.

Here's a direct link to the QT trailer: http://mp3content02.bcst.yahoo.com/b02r01/006/yahoomovies/5/14819028.mov It starts off nice enough but the rest is kinda lazy work. I guess they were under the gun and needed to get this thing out, though. Doesn't change the fact that using the RESIDENT EVIL m...

Never seen the original or heard the 'legend' but I saw this remake and I was less than impressed. Remo's right though - it seemed like a parody to me while I was watching it. All character moments and exposition is rushed through to get to the ghostly setpieces (of which there must've been about oh...

I wish Kurt (NME666) could see the film. He was a big scifi fan like myself and I know he was looking forward to this one. RIP Kurt. I'll be thinking of you when I see the film. Wow. I only frequent the movie discussion forums here so this is news to me. Very saddening. That's two we've lo...

Not a fantastic movie but a very interesting one. I think the execution is better than the script, actually. What I found most disturbing was that Trevor reminded me of a few folks I've known who've overdone it on the drugs thing... My hat's off to Bale, though. Let's see Cruise do THAT to himself. ...

Checked BICHUNMOO out for myself and I'm here to say it stinks. Everything about it is laborious, from the plotting and acting right down to the horrid overuse of left-right/right-left camera tilting for every shot during the fighting scenes, ruining the choreography.

MUSA? I don't think so. The only alternate title I know of is MUSA THE WARRIOR which doesn't really make sense since 'musa' is Korean for 'warrior'. Its got that Ziyi Zhang bird in it, if that's any help. Now, has anyone seen another Korean period martial arts/swordplay number, BICHUNMOO? I caught t...

You could try MUSA, a pretty decent Korean period epic from 2001. Plenty of violent skirmishes over its 2.5 hour running time as a buncha exiled Korean diplomats escort a rescued Ming princess across the lands of China whilst fending off several deadly attacks from her Mongolian captors. It all culm...

Wow. Thanks for the recommendation, something I now endorse wholeheartedly. This has gotta be one of the most well written HK cop flicks that I've seen. Its a shame that the only way to get world audiences to invest in this story is to remake it (supposedly Marky Mark is up for Anthony Wong's part -...

Hey, don't look at me - it doesn't open here for a coupla months but when it does I'll be sure to investigate.

Yeah, its gotta be tough making a zombie movie but 28 million dollars has gotta make it slightly less of a chore. There wasn't the usual budgetary requirement to make DAWN'04 another seige-type film but they went that route anyway. Fine. Its just a shame that pretty much everything in between the fa...

What can I say? For a 28 million dollar zombie flick, I find the DAWN remake remarkably unambitious. I don't hate it because its got stuff that any horror fan just loves to see but I won't be sending the screenwriter(s) or director flowers - its just so... unoriginal. I can think of a bunch of parra...

I'm with Latte. I didn't even make it to the end of PREMUTOS. Infact, I think I turned it off during the finale. The effects were tedious, with little rhythm or style to them. I'd rather watch something with a small handful of well-executed gags than a whole bunch done poorly.
