Wow, Sly does it again! This movie was almost perfect, imo, and more than delivers what any fan of the franchise could possibly have hoped for. This is a definite must see. Who cares if the plot is simple and basically the same as part 2? It's the action that matters and it's here in spades, accompa...

Why, Remo, you just missed not only a chance, but practically an invitation to plug your show! If modesty prevents you, I'll do the honors. This weekend, "BLOOD TIDE"! Remo D.'s Manor Of Mayhem Friday and Saturday 10PM Pacific Saturday and Sunday 5AM Pacific Monterey cable channel 24 (AMP)...

Wasn't "Turistas" 2006 or did you just get it late down there? Either way, I liked that much more than I thought I would for some reason. Some about the operating room scenes gave me a "Zombie Holocaust" vibe. I watched "Joshua" the other day and loved it. It's about ti...

I tried to like Heroes, but I finally had enough 4 or 5 episodes into the second season and gave up on it.

I'm not sure if either The Trailer Park Boys or The IT Crowd are coming back so that basically leaves Avatar: The Last Airbender as the only show on tv I like.

Great wrap up as always, Remo! Thanks for the effort! A couple things I saw this year that you didn't touch on: If "Hot Fuzz" is included, then "Fido" has to be, too. (Yes, it premiered in 2006, but I can't exclude it because of one festival showing. This is 2007 all the way, imo...

Friday was good for me. It turns out that Penny Dreadful lives a few towns over from me and her show airs here at 11pm. So I watched that, then had a few minutes until The Manor came on. Managed to stay awake for the first hour, but set the alarm for 9am to catch the last half the next morning. Hope...

I went last night. I thought it was pretty average. Honestly, I can't remember the last time I felt so totally non-affected by a movie. It was really pretty much just pure middle of the road entertainment. Neither great nor terrible. Of course, I never saw the first one, but I'm told that that's a m...

Saw it and loved it. Thanks for the heads up! Tomei was indeed very good, though spending the first quarter or so of the movie naked sure helped! :) I'm not sure I liked how the the story jumped around time-wise. It's a bit of a tired gimmick, imo. It wasn't awful, but I'm not fully sure it needed t...

Saw it yesterday and thought it was great. It had a weird sort of humor to it I thought as well. There were several times it made me laugh, but not in a way that detracted from the horror of the film. I though the cgi looked a little weak at first, but got much better as it went on. The final creatu...

I re-watched 1-3 this weekend and noticed something rather amusing. SPOILER ALERT In part 3 when they are going through the crime scene after Troy's test, Rigg, Kerry and Hoffman are examining the evidence, Rigg is telling Kerry that it's not her fault and that the person who is at fault is still ou...

Saw it today and liked it a lot myself, although you do really need a scorecard, as Remo suggests. I felt like I need to go back an re-watch the whole series again just to comprehend it all. Try as I might, I can't come up with the motivation behind the villain in this one.

Shatter Dead is an interesting one to me and one I think is worth viewing. But I've also heard some suggest it is some kind of low budget "masterpiece" and I think that's certainly going too far. Others I seem to recall enjoying somewhat were Maplewoods and The Stink Of Flesh. But I though...

Catacombs

Watched this Fear.net original on On Demand the other night and thought it was a bit of fun. Visitor to Paris is taken by her sister to an underground rave and of course, gets lost in the catacombs and is stalked by a goat faced killer, allegedly raised by cult members to be the anti-christ. Not too...

Went out to see it today and enjoyed it. It was definitely better than the comic, which felt rushed. The movie really takes it time and lets you feel the desperation of the citizens of Barrow. Otherwise, it was very true to the comic, right down to the dialogue. Action and gore were topnotch. Also, ...

I'm sure I'll check it out at some point, though whether or not that happens in a theatre remains to be seen. I loved 1, was disappointed with 2 and like 3 much more than I thought I would. But I still am more interested in 30 Days of Night, which is a bit weird since I didn't much care for the GN.

On the basis of your review alone, I truly wanted to catch this at the drive-in on a double bill with Halloween the other night. But some friends were going to a small theater to see Halloween and it was one of their birthdays so I sort of felt obligated to join the crowd there. So I missed it.... :(
