Anyone that has done a Best Buy PRP Deal

I sent in my Guitar Hero guitar and Game since the guitar was defective and got the gift card back. On the form it came with it says "Can be used on a product for equal or greater value", well, okay, but I was just curious, wouldn't it be possible to just use it on a bunch of stuff like a normal gift card? Or is there some sort of (as Palin would say) Gotcha deal in the card where it has to verify what I am purchasing? I don't plan on getting another Guitar, maybe a few movies, CD's, whatever.

When I worked at Best Buy, a couple years ago, you could still use it on anything you wanted...but, it's been a couple years.
