Y'know, you really are a complete imbecile.
FTFA: "I walked into office facing a massive deficit, most of which was the result of not paying for two wars, two tax cuts, and an expensive prescription drug program."
Not to mention the almost 30% tax cut Bush gave to his freinds in his first few weeks in office, those freinds being the top 5% of income earners. Both wars were started by Bush, and were NOT in the Federal budget, they were "supplemental spending bills" as was the prescription drug law passed by Congress in 2005.
OFF BUDGET. That means borrowed money. That means, now those wars and the debts incurred including the interest payments on that debt, are now under Obama, ON BUDGET. Hello deficit. On September 10, 2001, Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld, announced that the military could not account for almost $2.3 TRILLION spent over the previous 15 years, and that money had most likely been dissapeared through contractor fraud and waste. Look what happened the next day. All of a sudden, nobody is talking about where that money could have gone.
Its like magic.
As for the drilling, let them drill. Any oil that is there won't start pumping for about 10 years, and probably won't have any effect on the world oil supply or gas prices because George the First put oil on the commodity futures market which lets the speculators set the price on oil, not the rate of consumption or the actual supply. They are going to be drilling off Texas, Louisiana and the lower east coast off Florida and Virgina.
Let them have their own
Santa Barbara disaster. I guess they need to re-learn that lesson the hard way, again. At least the fisheries on the west coast and Alaska are being protected.
To this day, you walk on the beaches anywhere from La Jolla to Cayucos, you still have to wash your feet with gasoline to get the tar off. Dig down in the sand two feet, and you find a layer of oil.
