I'm motherhen-ing eight walkin' ~ talkin' two week old chicks for friends' of mine for a few days. A week and a half ago, they were literally the size of Peeps and I fell madly in love with 'em.
The yellow ones are
both called Kristi. The owners say that they do these hilarious little kung-fu kicks before climbing over the other babies heads. Dominant lil' bitches got dubbed with my name for their shennaigans.
(notice they sleep streched out that way too in the 2nd and 3rd pic?)
I'm so wierdly entertained!

Actually they do. There was some sort of a sugary sweat-off a-happening with these guys and voila!

You can't keep them inside Red, tellin ya.
Chickens are a pain in the ass. If you are going to keep them you need a coop and a decent fenced in yard, eagles, coyotes and raccoons just love fresh chicken. That many you need at least 250 sq/ft yard and a little house. They are full grown at 3 months and they start to turn ornery.
And yeah, they shit a ton.

What fun! You get to play with them when they're young and cute and then you get to give them back before they're big and annoying. I think that's just about perfect!
