Better late than never(more)

Post by shannon »

Have you ever overlooked a well-established band & then one day realized what you where missing out on? This has recently happened to me when it comes to NEVERMORE.

Obviously, there's a big Nevermore fan base here, but I didn't grow up here. Prior to moving here, the only place I had heard of them was in the occasional bit article in metal mags. So after all these years, I finally bought "This Godless Endeavor" the day it came out. Fuckin' hell, the disc is just amazing! Seeing them at Gigantour secured my fandom even more. I had seen them 2 yrs. ago w/ Dimmu Borgir, but at that time I still wasn't paying them much mind. Anyway Seattelites, I've come around....better late than never.

So again, I pose the question....

MEGADETH.

i never really paid megadeth much attention until the last year and now i have all of their albums. mustaine blows my mind. i wish that i had megadeth when i was younger and more impressionable with my music tastes, but i was a metallica fan and thought that since megadeth and metallica feuded, that megadeth probably sucks. boy was i wrong since i like megadeth much more.

Stone Temple Pilots. I did not think much of them till after they were broken up. I have since really enjoyed a great number of their selections.

I'm going to get some horrified looks for this but...

Led Zeppelin.

I have liked them for as long as I can remember, but I never REALLY sat down with a set of headphones and gave them a good listen. That was only 5 years ago.

Dark Tranquillity

I had already heard the In Flames and Soilworks by the time I bothered with Dark Tranquillity. I bought a used copy of The Gallery and was impressed. But it wasn't til I bought Haven that I was truly hooked. I perfer their more recent material, Haven being my perfered choice. The new one is great too.

As for Nevermore, the new album is really good, though they may never top The Politics Of Ecstasy. Highly recommended!
