HeavyAsHell.com Relaunches With Challenge For Charity

HeavyAsHell.com has relaunched bigger and better than ever and Social Media has never rocked so hard! After months of planning and asking heavy music fans what changes they wanted, the premier place to share links to websites and stories about rock, metal and punk offers up an entire new site.

The basic concept of the site remains intact. Fans still submit the links to the music news stories (and websites) they think need more attention. The community at large then votes on the stories they think deserve to hit the front of the site. Now more than ever it is about putting the fan in control over their news!

Giving music fans an entire new site just wasn't enough though. A video challenge has also been released on YouTube that states that if one thousand 'on topic' stories make 'popular' (aka front page) on HeavyAsHell.com during the month of August 2008, HeavyAsHell founder Mark Carras will donate his several feet of hair to LocksOfLove.org along with a one thousand dollar donation. Watch the video challenge at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iGERX1r8uWg

True rock, metal, & punk have always been snubbed by the mainstream (along with it's fans). It is that same unfair treatment that inspired Heavy As Hell.com. We hope this can now be a place where independent journalists, fans, and artists in heavy music can exchange links to the best interviews, cd reviews, DVD reviews, live photos, or most importantly a news story on a band you love. More events will soon be announced to celebrate this relaunch. So stay tuned to the official HeavyAsHell blog at http://www.heavyashell.com/blog/

As of this posting...

Total Stories: 130

Popular Stories: 106

894 stories needed to be made popular

Come on people. I see you post links here left and right. You post youtube videos, news stories, and MySpace pages all the time on forums. So why not on Heavy As Hell?

This is for a good cause that helps children that I am trying to do. At least go vote on stories and get them to the front. Image

Hey, I registered and tried to vote on stories, but the vote links only take me to the top of the page. Hover the mouse over either arrow, and the link at the bottom of the browser just says "http://www.heavyashell.com/#".

Can't you just help without the 1000 stories?

My programmer is trying to work out a few bugs in IE. Try using Fire Fox if you can. He is trying to fix those bugs as fast as he can re-create the problem on his side. Can you give me all the stats so I can let him know. As in browser, version, OS, version. Thanks for letting me know.

I was using Firefox. Version 2.0.0.16. XP SP3. I don't use Internet Exploder if I can help it. With Firefox's IE Tab plug-in, I can always help it. Heh.

Very interesting. I will let the programmer know as soon as I can. Thanks for the heads up! This kind of stuff is part of the reason it is such a challenge to get this thing really going.
