Lineup is now complete. I have my ticket and hotel, will book my flight whenever I get my tax return. The location is killer and there is plenty of other stuff to do if there is a block of time that features several bands you do not care for. Little Italy (INSANELY good food) and the Inner Harbor are both within walking distance, as is "The Block," an area with nothing but strip clubs and fried chicken/porn/liquor stores :)

The Antietem National Battlefield is close by where I encourage all to make time to go tour while they are in Maryland. Gen Robert E. Lee and the brave warriors in gray fought off a superior federal mercenary force led by Lincoln's butchers in 1862.

May we never forget.....

How close is it man? Everything has to be within walking (or staggering) distance of my hotel for it to be realistic. I think my acceptable waking distance maxed out at around 4 miles each way last time as I don't think I could do more in the state I was in combined with the 80+ degree weather :)

General Lee's brave warriors in gray left the secure perimeter of Richmond and their homeland and marched north over 150 miles on foot, (some barefoot), starving, without a supply line and into the heart of darkness to meet fate and destiny on the blood soaked field at Antietem.

You have the luxury of a rental car or shuttle and will not have to hold down a front line against a force 3 times your size, with artillery fire raining down upon you and union mercenaries advance to charge your line.

Consider yourself lucky. If you do make it there, remember, it is sacred ground with the lost souls of Lee's Army of Northern Virginia resting in some places less than three feet under the ground. For honor and glory they marched.............defenders of state's right, seccession and liberty.

May we never forget....

I'd like to encourage anyone who loves heatstroke to attempt the walk out to Sharpsburg/Antietam from Baltimore in the summertime. It's at least an hour in a car.

Make buying your ticket to the show the priority, the rest can always wait but you don't want it to sell out!

I am super stoked for Sodom, my bands to see before I die list will be down to two after this fest :)

I hope you can do it Clark, it would be much fun to roam the projects of Baltimore with you. And don't worry, it is nowhere near as scary as Main and Hastings :)

If all goes well on my side here in the next few months buddy, we will go in style. I also have some friends of my family that live in Baltimore that said we can crash at their place. But that could hold us back. : )

We might have to make an extended stay if all goes really well. :)

That would hold us back. I prefer to be in walking distance of the venue so nothing can get in the way of drinking and I can go back to the hotel during extended parts of bands that suck :)

I hear ya, I am thinking the same thing. : )

Just throwing it out there.
