S2C CD Release / Farewell Show
Posted: Sat Jul 25, 2009 8:57 pm
Urgent Update: Release Date is now on Sept. 26th due to a scheduling conflict. More details to come, but please update your calendars, and sorry for the change!.
Hey All,
In case you missed our announcement on Hot Rocks this evening, S2C will be taking an indefinite hiatus. For a band that started in 2001 playing house shows, I can say I've been lucky enough to accomplish more with this band than in any other project I've had the joy of being a part of. We've toured much of the U.S., released 3 albums (the 4th on it's way on Sept. 5th), been part of countless compilations, not to mention shared the stage with some of the greatest and most exciting local and national bands I could have ever dreamed of.
Personally, after our CD release on September 5th, I will be taking a break from music to venture into other aspects of life that were inaccessible with the life that is the touring/recording musician. This is not to say I won't be playing music in the future, because there is no doubt in my mind that I will be back playing in some form or another, just not immediately. My heartfelt thanks goes to first and foremost my bandmates, with whom I have shared the most amazing journey and grown by leaps in bounds musically and personally thanks to them. I know each of them will be successfull in their future musical endeavors, and look forward to seeing what they create next.
I'd like to thank everyone who has helped us through the years as well, from photographers (amazing work that didn't always get posted, but always blew us away, thank you all) to Club Owners/Bookers (Thanks for giving us a place to make people turn and go "WTF?") all of the bands we have played with (nothing is more fun than watching someone else who loves what they do as much as you do), and most importantly, those who came to the shows, bought the merch, and told their friends about us. I'm happy in knowing that we have had the opportunity of sharing our music with as many people as we have, and hope that the music is something that you can look to in the future as a positive point in your lives just like it is in mine.
Heavy stuff aside, we WILL be releasing our final CD, entitled "Second Chances" (Gotta love irony), on Sept. 5th at El Corazon in Seattle. Thanks to the wonderful people at Morpheus Records, we will also be releasing the album through ITUNEs, Napster, Rhapsody, and all of those other sites on the same date, so if you aren't in Seattle, never fret, you will have your chance.
For those that are in Seattle, we will have a limited pressing of only 300 CDs, and will be giving them away to the first 300 people through the door on Sept. 5th. We will also be handing out for very cheap the rest of our back catalog and merch, so if there's a hole in your S2C collection, Sept 5th is the night to fill it!
For one last time, thank you to everyone for all of your support over the years, and I wish everyone the best, hoping to see you in a club or on the street in the near future!
Sincerely,
Scott Estes (S2C)
