Steve is not only better but he acutally knows the bands he interviews and talks about on the radio.

I just found this out last night. Ricker has always annoyed the living shit out of me. I never thought he was really all that entertaining but I think I began to see through his line of bullshit recently.

I do find it ironic that just as I was starting to show the slightest hint of warming up to the dude's schtick, he's out of here. Oh well. Best to him.

Now if we can just get that station to start playing better music...

What's wrong with hearing the same 5 songs played over and over? :chainsaw:

I actually don't mind some of the stuff they play and I do understand that their format is mainly "rock" and not so much "metal". I'm fine with that. I like a lot of rock music. Granted most of it is older rock music. I also enjoy more modern rock as well but this is where I get EXTREMELY picky. I would rather listen to some horrible, modern day rap music blasting out of some wigger's rusted rusted out Honda CRX that shakes and vibrates so violently it all but drowns out the "music" being played than have to repeatedly stomach bands like Godsmack, Saliva, Nickleback, Shinedown, Sixx AM, Breaking Benjamin, Puddle Of Mudd, etc... I would have never dreamed it was possible to make rock music THAT incredibly generic and manufactured but son-of-a-bitch if they didn't do just that and exceed with flying colors.

And as much as I hate to say it, every rock station in the entire country needs to LAY THE FUCK OFF THE NIRVANA! I used to love that band but with the constant, repetitious saturation over the past 15 or so years it's simply become nothing more than background music to me. Thanks for ruining it for me, assholes!

But I digress because I could seriously go on about shit like this for quite some time.

I haven't heard it.

... I dont mind them playing "the latest hit song" by anyone (even Nickelback), as the radio is supposed to be about music discovery ... it's the mindless repeative: Seattle grunge bands, ACDC and LedZep rinse/repeat that kill me. HELLO NY DUMBASS PLAYLIST EXEC ... I have those records!

Funky Monkey has the same issues but seems to get a much wider breadth of music to choose from, that and they let the "local" show be heard at an hour(s) that people can tune in to ... Sunday nites 11-12am?? KISW come the fuck on! (at least it is streamable)

I have a Zune. Glad that Ricker is gone. This is well over 5 years overdue.
