Argento to make Phenomena 2?

Post by Latte Thunder »

Just read this over at www.darkhorizons.com

--Phenomena 2: Since the cancellation of "Occhiali Neri", Dario Argento has apparently begun work on a new screenplay for a sequel to his 1985 film "Phenomena". Shooting is expected to begin around Easter next year.--

Is it going to revolve around an illicit relationship between Jennifer Connoly, the monkey, and a pile of insects?

Sounds like a great concept to me Chris!

That's pretty interesting news. I'm one of those people who really like Phenomena (I know more than a few who don't), so I'd not mind seeing a sequel of some sort.

Ah, but have you seen NON HO SONNO? It was worth my time, I must say. Not a masterpiece but much more familiar and the first 15 minutes is killer.

The first Phenomena is one of my all time favorite movies. I mean, c'mon, it had Jennifer Connolly, Donald Pleasance, maggots, a monkey with a straight razor, a deformed child, Iron Maiden and Motorhead! What more do you need? Therefore, I'd welcome a sequel. Image

Hmmm...let's see...Jennifer Connolly is an adult now,and isn't above doing nude scenes-(The Hot Spot & Mulholland Falls),so why not let her parade around naked, while the monkey goes ape-shit with the razor, hacking up the cast? Works for me :-)

Haven't seen the latest Argento. I'm a bit behind on the Horror front...but I do have Mr. Vampire on right now, so that means I rule.

It was just announced that Terry Luster's script for the film has been picked up by Argento. I'm gonna catch this one for sure!
