Teenage Caveman

Post by howlermonkee »

Ok, this is a pretty cool film. A chick writhes in pain before basicly exploding. Good stuff here. I was kind of disapointed by the caveman make-up though. Anyway, I just thought I should post something seeing as how the last post was put up about a month ago.

I think I saw that at the video store last night.

A Blockbuster, of all places, is stocking some really decent flicks lately. They have an R1 disc of Audition, Brother, Time and Tide.

Those AUDITION and BROTHER releases would be cut.

I noticed the box at BB the other night, maybe I'll have to check it out.

What's cut from the US version of "Brother", just a wee bit o violence? Running time on the Universal R3 DVD is 113 minutes yet IMDB lists it as 114. Is it cut? I saw the Sony one in the theater but I passed out due to the late hour (midnight movie) and general intoxication.

Apparently BROTHER has had alot of blood digitally erased like from head shots and shit. I ain't no expert though, I'm sure the specifics are out there somewhere. It has been described as "heavily cut" though so watch out!

Its also my understanding that the R rated version of AUDITION just completely ruins the pay-off. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.

You know? I did find it pretty odd that Audition actually had a rating on it (R)... I figured it was cut and I had heard that Brother was cut, but I don't know how much. Unfortunately, the R1 is the only one I can watch (until I get a DVD ROM and hack it).

Poker Industries is selling an all region PAL Audition disc, though. I could always pick that one up. But I've been wanting to see the Japanese cut of Brother for a long time.

Also, avoid the chinese editions of the Ichi The Killer DVD. I downloaded a vcd of it and it's butchered entirely and without any sense of finesse. They tease you by showing you a split second of the gore to come and then cut right to the aftermath. What I saw, though, was enough to tell me that I need to see the uncut version (which comes out on the 25th, I think). It was awesome!

edit: Howler - sorry to totally hijack your thread.

Good god

I watched Teenage Caveman and it was so awful. It was almost cool... but then it just went on forever. A Larry Clark sci fi movie? sounds awesome to me.. But it turned completely into one of his other movies. Not his style sci fi style. But one of his other movies... it could have been wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better.

And Audition was fucking boring. The only good parts were the torture scenes.
Let's ask him, what's the deal?
