(pasted from an email I got)

Hi! You're receiving this message because you snagged a copy of Dead or Alive, and asked me to let you know when anything else was available. I'm really happy to say that RAINY DOG -- a great Miike film that's difficult to find -- is now available on an anamorphic DVD-R with subtitles!

I've made a lot of improvements since the Dead or Alive DVD, including:

- Removable, even better subtitles (!)
- Time and chapter display
- Better, faster menus
- Much better transfer quality

I'm not planning to put this up on eBay, but thought that you might want to
grab a collector-to-collector copy. I'm offering it for $25 + $5 Priority
Mail shipping to the US. (International/Canadian people -- shipping is a bit
more.)

To order a copy using PayPal, click here: http://www.paypal.com/xclick/business=damageddog%40pobox.com&undefined_quant
ity=1&item_name=Rainy+Dog+DVD&item_number=2&amount=25.00 . Otherwise, you
can drop me a line and I'll give you the address for a MoneyOrder.

Thanks for your interest! I think you're going to love the DVD: feel free to
reply with any questions.

ahhh... that's Damaged Dog from the Horror HQ forum. That guy is releasing some great boots. I still have to bag the DOA dvd off of him. From what I understand it's a killer job.

These DVD-Rs are really terrific! If you haven't gotten them yet, I highly suggest you do so, they are both worth it, if you like the films that is. Image

definitely like them.

Miike is a recent favorite. I saw Fudoh back in 99 and it changed my perspective of Asian cinema entirely.

I understand some of his recent releases are just mindblowingly weird. There's a comic musical he did and something called Ichi The Killer that in an interview he said before he made it (this was after Audition had been released theatrically to the rest of the world) that it would be so violent that watching it would be harmful to the viewer. I guess his most recent project is a remake or an addition to the Zatoichi films. I'm dying to see it.

unfortunately, his movies don't make it out to the R1 peeps that often.

The musical/weird thing is a film called THE HAPPINESS OF THE KATAKURIS (KATAKURIKE NO KOFOKU) and it is supposed to be a remake of some sort of THE QUIET FAMILY which I haven't even seen either but heard great things about. In the recent films I saw by Miike, I highly suggest VISITOR Q a unique and twisted one to say the least. Really out there but quite touching by its ending also.

Anyway, here are some links around Miike that might interest you.

Man, this only reminds me of how far away I've gotten from movies lately. At one time this news would have been music to my ears. Now? It only reminded me that I've had the subtitles for this movie for about a year and totally forgot to get the unsubtitled tape from my friend to watch it. I really should do that.
