Cemetery Man & Sullivan's Travels

Post by DylanDog »

I was watching the commentary on the Criterion DVD of Sullivan's Travels today (which I found a little boring if you care to know) and I noticed something that I never did before. Now I'm sure we all know that Cemetery Man is chock full of references to other movies, but I'm not sure if I've noticed a link to Sullivan's Travels or if it is just a coincidence. Y'know, like the sort of thing that might be in quite a few movies, but I personally have only noticed it in these two? Anyway, at one point in both movies (for those of you yahoos who haven't seen one or both of these classics! Image) a picture of a women's dead husband changes expressions! It happened on the tombstone in Cemetery Man and in the bedroom of the first house Sullivan stays in. Does anyone think this might actually be a nod to the movie? Most of the other references in Cemetery Man seem to be to 70's/80's genre films, but who knows....
