Has anyone heard anything about Romero's next installment in the Dead series? According to UHM, this will be the plot:
In the film, the zombies having taken over the world and those left alive are confined to a walled-in city that keeps out the corpse corps. Anarchy rules the streets, with the wealthy insulated and living in fortified skyscrapers. The drama revolves around a group of scavengers who must thwart an attempt to overthrow the city while the dead are evolving from brainless slow-moving creatures into more advanced creatures.

Rumor has it Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright from
Shaun of the Dead fame will appear as zombies.
This makes me warm in my panties.

Yeah man, we've had a good deal of discussion about this movie since it was first announced way back when. Apparently, it's shooting in Toronto now. We'll probably see it at the end of the year or early next year. From what I've come to understand, it's going to have an R rating theatrically with Romero's uncut version coming to DVD.

Pegg and Wright are indeed listed in the cast according to the IMDB. Release date is scheduled for October 21, tentatively. Interestly, a week or two ago a friend ask me about that and I didn't know. But the next day, the January issue of Fangoria mysteriously appeared in my mailbox. I have no subscription, there was no mailing label and I have no idea who put it there. But it had that release date listed.

Personally, I don't give a shit who's in it. I wouldn't care if Lindsay Lohan was in it, I'd just hope Romero would have enough sense to have her torn to bits in the first twenty minutes. Although I like low budget flicks like Fangoria's Slashers, I'm thankful for the fact that horror has become a bit more mainstream so that we can have bigger effects. I don't mind computer animation when it's done well like in the new Dawn of the Dead. They used computer animation, but also used stuntmen and extras with missing limbs. I thought that was a great touch.
I don't mind that it's getting more popular and I don't mind the teen casts. Some of the best horror movies of the 60's and 70's used very popular actors and actresses, but a lot of people conveniently don't remember that.

Any idea when we might get a trailer, even a teaser for the film?

LOL! What was "misjudged"? The fact that they stated they dont mind computer animated gore or the fact that they are not concerned with who is in it? Obvously, you are the troll.

I have been waiting for this film to come out, and I am glad that Romero has gotten to the Post-Production stage.
When it comes out, I am going to force everyone I know to go to this film.
And about the game based off of the movie.
That is pretty cool, but I hope it doesn't turn out like most movie-based games.
And what kind of game play would it have? First person shooter, or resident evil's style?
And maybe something else?

Just heard about it yesterday and my net connection was unreliable at best. Anyway, good news I suppose. Now I'll get to (hopefully) see it at the drive-in.

This is the first I've heard about this. It's hot.
On a side note for any of us in New England, George Romero is a guest at this year's Rock and Shock show in Worcester. I already have the spot on my Dawn of the Dead box that he's going to sign.

I have such a huge fucking rock hard-on for this movie. Been waiting for this since nineteen eighty fucking five! Cannot wait, the trailer is supposed to appear this FRIDAY with the XXX 2 turd. I'll be there and leaving right after the trailer. Well maybe I'll give XXX 2 at least 15 minutes, if I can't stand it I'll ditch.
Anyway, been following this movie since it was announced. I talked to Greg Nicotero at length a few weeks back and he tells me that they went ALL FUCKING OUT with the zombies, gore, and violence. Beyond what was done in Day Of The Dead. Of course most of that shit will be cut for the R theatrical but the DVD will be unrated and wet as fuck.
I have the script if anyone wants to read it, I can email it if you have Acrobat reader... The script rocks. If you liked Bub in Day then you are gonna love "Big Daddy" in land. June 24th can not come fast enough...
PS: this site should be live this week sometime:

I've been avoiding the script since it was "Dead Reckoning", I don't want anything spoiled for me. This is definitely my most anticipated film in a long time.
I pray that this will get an advance screening at the Seattle International Film Festival next month, the schedule will be announced on the 5th of May.
