I DRINK YOUR BLOOD DVD release date?
I know that Grindhouse is going to be releasing this gem on DVD, but does anybody know when they plan to? It's one of my faves in 70's gore/horror, and I heard the DVD is going to have some unseen footage!

Ooh, yeah, the puddle just gets bigger and bigger the more I think about this one. No idea when its coming out, I'm afraid, but I did hear about those extra scenes, commentary, interviews etc. etc.
Now, can anyone fill me in on what's happening with Synapse's upcoming DEADLY SPAWN DVD? Supposedly its a special edition.

i was actually in a bidding war with Image, Synapse, and Retromedia over The Deadly Spawn, but unfortunately Don May wanted to go a little higher than the rest of us. As for Extras, here's what we were planning on: a brand new digitally transferred print including footage missing from ALL other versions (right from the original 16mm elements), a commentary track from producer Ted Bohus (and possibly a few others), a still gallery (featuring behind the scene photos, production photos, promotional pictures, box art from around the globe, and concept art for this and it's proposed sequel - all scored to the film's soundtrack), a blooper and outtake reel, behind the scenes footage, trailers for this and other films produced by Ted Bohus, and news footage of screenings of the film in it's hometown. Ted also went back and fixed a few cheesy fx shots - like the meteorite at the begining now has a real meteor superimposed over it, so i'm pretty curious to see the final product. I'm not sure if all of these xtras with still make the disc with Synapse doing it, but we can hope. No clue about release date. Also, it's worth noting that an 8 minute section of the 16mm elements were damaged REALLY badly, so we were going to have to punch in some footage from the old video release master - kinda like what happened with The Wicker Man and Army Of Darkness. Hopefully Don will keep the price down, I wanted to put it out for $24.95 retail, meaning you could pick it up for $20 at Best Buy and Borders...
As for I Drink Your Blood and Cannibal Holocaust - Grindhouse mainman Bob Murawski is currently busy as all hell editing Sam Raimi's Spiderman, so the discs are on hold til it's finished. Funny side note: he's using the soundtrack from Bird With The Crystal Plumage on the temp audio track and Sam REALLY likes it, so he wants Danny Elfman's score to resemble it...

Oh my god, he 'fixed' a few effects shots? Lucas syndrome! No!
Besides that concerning business, sounded like you had yourself a real winner of a package there, Bruce. I'm sorry you couldn't see it come to fruition. Are you pursuing any other titles at this time? I'll give ya 5 bucks if you get KING FRAT on the shelves...
Nice SPIDEY story, by the way.

Griff - Be happy it's not Russo Syndrome.
Bruce - DEADLY SPAWN is a damn classic. I agree with Griff here, it sounds like the mother lode. How's about a few other titles, like one of our mutual faves, the almighty TENEMENT? I swear, Bruce...make this one a reality and I'd die the happiest motherfucker on the face of the Earth.
Welcome to the Forums, Billy! Good call on I DRINK YOUR BLOOD. I'd like to see it again, albeit in an uncut form. Even in the shitty R-rated tape from SWV, I could tell that a sleazoid classic was just waiting to come out. Too bad it got cut to shit. I hope Grindhouse actually gets it out this time.

Yeah, this is definitely one of the better forums out there, glad I found it. I Drink Your Blood still looks good on my boot VHS from the Japanese release but the DVD will definitely destroy that.
That sucks about The Deadly Spawn DVD man, do you have any other discs planned?
