saving your game

I'm pissed at myself cause I accidentally erased my progress on GTA:SA. Been playing it since it came out for XBox, haven't beaten it yet, and I'm sure I was pretty close to the end, but kept getting stuck on the mission where you steal the Harrier jet, so I decided to start up a new game and see if I could get through it quicker since I now know the maps and missions better, but when I went to save the new game for the first time my brain was on autopilot and I overwrote the game I've been playing for 3 months. DAMMIT!!!!!
So I'm not alone, right? Other people have done this to themselves, I'm sure of it.

yeah, that sucks dude. i bought the game the day it came out and played it for 5 months and my son ended up erasing the game on my ps2 one day because he was curious as to what would happen if he touched this button, then that button... he ended up erasing every game on my ps2 and i had a lot of progress on a few games including gta:sa

Yep, I did that same thing on the same game even. I had started a new game also and saved it in the wrong slot, then I was confused or something and saved it again, so then I had two new games saved in the same place. Dur!

I now feel vindicated! After a week and a half, skipping all the side missions and everything unneccessary to finishing the game, I am back where I was before I erased my progress. It will not happen again!
