I read this in PSM. Only 400,000 units will be released in the U.S. only 100,000 in Japan! And a big fat 0 in Europe. this is really going to piss a lot of people off. After this year i think the playstation title will cease to exist.

Uh, k...

In case you forgot, it was damn near impossible to get a PS2 when that launched, unless you had a pre-order. I distinctly remember the 360 being damn near impossible to get without a pre-order, for quite some time. I feel sorry for the gamers in Europe getting screwed, they won't get theirs until next year.

Anyone who buys first gen Sony hardware needs to wake up. They have a horrible, horrible track record when it comes to first gen. I guarantee we are gonna see a lot of broken useless PS3s.

First generation hardware always has a lot of bugs to work out. They test them like crazy, but you can't get every instance of fuck-up until they reach the mass market.

I don't think Sony is going anywhere. It may be a $600 video game console with a Blu-Ray player in it, but the incentives stop there. There's still a lot of unfinished business regarding their online service. I just don't think it will be as universal as the PSX and PS2 were. It costs too much for the average household to afford, a lot of their exclusive titles are now going cross-platform on launch and the Wii has eaten up enough market hype to make Nintendo an actual contender this time around.

yeah that motion sensored control has me intrigued. if or if not more PS3's will be released is not known to me. I have a really hard time believing that these are to be the only number of units distributed if so, think of the eBay bombshell that will explode. People will likely find themselves dishing out twice as much as they normally would.

Heh...
