Halo 3

I must really love my kid. Just got back from Gamestop and got him the Halo 3 limited edition. I was #5 in line, not too long of a wait. Unfortunately, he MUST do his homework and chores before he even thinks about opening this game up when he gets home from school.

Soooo....what do all you experts think of the game and the hype?

This game is the ONLY reason why I would buy an Xbox. But it seems like a waste of $$ just for one game.

I bought a 360 just to play this game. I started playing Halo 3 last December (Alpha) and played until last month (Epsilon). I have already gotten my value out of the price I paid for the XBOX 360. Now that the game has been released I plan on playing it just as heavily. I put in almost 7000 matchmaking games for Halo2. I am sure to beat that mark on Halo3. The campaign is enjoyable but for me online multiplayer is where the sweet spot is.

We bought the XBOX 360 for Christmas, and we have definitely gotten our money's worth so far. I don't play it, all I have is my Guitar Hero II & Rocks the 80's for PS 2. That's my gig, unless he finds a pinball game for the 360.

Tipton's tag is Lord Ripper, so I'm sure he'll be out there playing multi-player within hours! He is DAMN good too!

Haha, I'm locking up the game in my room before I go to work so he is not tempted to leave any homework or chores undone. He has to have all his homework and chores done (with physical proof) before his dad unlocks the door gives it to him.

I think I'm on the last level now. So far I am really enjoying the game. Sure, it's just another FPS but I am finding myself getting a little more emotionally involved with this one. Although I get the impression it's going to be a little short I think this has the best single player game of the three.

Thanks! Kids need to learn that they have to work to get things they want! Nothing in life is free.

He was rewarded with a Halo 3 party Thursday night with all his buddies over here at our house playing the game on our 8' x 11' HD projection screen. (There was no school on Friday, teacher work day or something.) They had a great time.

Wow, cool! I watched Tipton play (because I suck at video games). It is amazing! Especially that you can review the game you played!

I'm not even halfway through the campaign yet, but I've started from the beginning a few times with a few different friends playing co-op. Also played some multiplayer, and it's all been really awesome so far. I'm hoping they're going to make all, or at least a bunch, of the maps from the first 2 games available at some point.

Just finished on normal. As I suspected it was a little short but the ending had to be the most satisfying of the trilogy by far. Good stuff that was well worth the 30 bucks :)

I'll probably do some multiplayer here and there but I need to get started on Medal of Honor Airborne now.

Halo 3 is pretty neato however I was expecting more than a copy of Halo 2. Since it is on the next platform I expected 3 to rape 2 in graphics. It looks identical to me. Oh well, the game play is awesome and the new storyline ropes you in from the beginning. It sucks that you can only dual wield the shitty weapons now. I kinda got bored with it because it just seemed like playing another level of Halo 2 and killing the same foes. So I am checking out Oblivion, the next chapter of the Elder Scrolls. Holy shit, they really beefed up the graphics in this one. Very fluid game play. But hey, this is about Halo 3.
