I didn't mind the ending, in all honesty, I guess it was a bit of a cop-out, but still, it was better than what they could've done. Perhaps we should start up a discussion thread with spoilers so we can discuss the ending / the entire movie, without having to worry about people reading it and getting upset?

I snagged a copy of the uncut subtitled french language version and it was pretty good. I'm not a gore connoisseur or anything but I'd say about 2 of the sequences were excellent and pretty graphic.

I hate to say it, but I honestly was expecting a lot more bloodshed, simply because of how the movie was being advertised. I was a little surprised at how the overall movie went and some of the sequences were filmed quite well.

I finally watched it over the weekend and hated the ending. Frankly I was just about lukewarm on the rest of the movie as well. It seemed like an enjoyable if not terribly original slasher film but the totally unnecessary finale completely ruined it for me. The gore was fine, but I thought that guys head came off WAY too easily. Another thing that bothered me besides the ending itself is how many of these types of movies will then have the flashback sequence where they show you all the parts of the movie that apparently were supposed to be hints or clues.

Didn't The NightFlyer have the same ending as well? And I suppose you could say Psycho did as well.

Stage Fright (Hitchcock) has an unusual ending, with flashback and such. A decent movie, ceck it out.

I've never seen Night Flier.

When I first saw HT, the twist didn't seem to fit. It interupted the rhythm of the movie. Now that I've had time to digest the movie, the ending doesn't bother me quite as much. Probably the "roughest" of the recent horror films I've seen.

To sum up the ending: Too predictable for being hyped up as unpredictable. It's the cliche psychological horror thing to do like that one movie Identity did.

An easy to get into film but that ending detracts from this being perfect. I still like and enjoyed it overall though.

seudo abstract lighting when she is in the bathroom freaking out...nice

Spoilers man, spoilers below

Finally got around to watching this and all I can say is, Gawd-damn!!!!!
Besides the predictable shit with the ending (especially when everyone is talking about the twist, blah, blah, blah, you could see it a mile away anyways. I mean the chick listening to that song on her walkman, the masturbation and leaving only her friend alive, I mean come on!) There were some plot holes like the beginning with the severed head giving head, how can you explain that part or am I just stupid?

Everything else aside I couldn't fucking believe the gore splashing across the screen! the dresser decapitation, fucking twisted as shit, gianetto is one twisted fucker for coming up with that. The barbwire board hits were intense man, I mean the shit sticking in dudes face and getting pulled out, ouch! The deal sealer is the buzz-saw death, intense gore that brings me back to the days of Olaf Ittenbach with Black Past but better, the saw death was just plain sick and they kept on showing it forever not backing down one bit. I can't believe they played this in theatres, unbelievable. Gianetto De Rossi is a gore God, Savini takes a backseat in this one, i'm sorry.

High Tension ( Unrated )

You know, I was going to rent it and there is this zit faced, nerdy dike that works at the place and when I walked up with it she was all "no!!! Oh my god do NOT rent that!! It is horrible!! It made me hate America, and France and lesbians and murder... etc.." she went on for a few minutes and I was thinking "well I already hate all that shit" but either way I felt like I can't or shouldn't rent the movie at that point. Then she directed me to the Tripping the rift epesodes and said they are "soooo funny".

Long story short I think tripping the rift is gay and unfunny and a few night later I rented High Tension and kind of liked it. The end is a bit stupid but it works i guess.

But the real point of this thread is:

What is the deal with dumb bitches putting their influence on what I watch?? She did it again like 2 nights ago telling me about how great 'but I’m a cheerleader' was and guess what? It wasn't that great. Not everyone's tastes are the same. Damn just do your job and type my fucking name up and rent me the cocksucking movie. Got it bitch?? I don't want your fucked up opinion on the selection of movies I am renting. What are you Siskel and Ebert's gay love child?? Fuck off!!!
