Am I the only one that finds those horror movies made by Sci Fi channel and other channels lame?

Don't know. I didn't think anybody actually watched them.

If anyone has, I'd guess Remo has. Seems the best TV horror is surprisingly the network TV stuff, which seems to be predominantly Stephen King adaptions fromm what I can tell. Loved that Salem's Lot remake.

Sci Fi channel has the absolute worst of the worst. Most of it is produced from their own original features budgets. Whatever allows them to reuse 3D models from past movies, so you wind up with half a dozen giant deadly snake movies a year. Thing is, the budget is so small on these movies since they're using very rudimentary CGI puppets and soap actors that really only 1 or 2% of the TV viewing audience has to tune in in order for Sci Fi to turn a profit. Profit determines the margin for sequels and similar movies. It's a cycle of repetition.

It's really too bad. They could be putting that feature money into better original programming. Battlestar Galactica was a pretty decent roll of the dice and the Stargate shows really aren't that bad. They'd be on a roll if they'd just cut out shit like Evil Python 2: The Mariana Trench and pick up something like Firefly.

Sci Fi is the absolute fucking worst about original features, though. Those two Return of the Living Dead sequels they ran recently were scraping the bottom of the barrel.

On the upside, A&E and Bravo have run some really good stuff, all produced by the BBC. Ultraviolet was one of the most original takes on the vampire thing I've ever seen.

I never watched much fo the Sci-Fi channel.

At one point it was showing Tales from the Crypt and Outer Limits (Showtime? episodes from 90's), however they were edited, so I didn't watch them.

I don't know about the, "Made for Sci-fi Channel" movies, however, I wouldn't mind seeing the station carry epsiodes of Tales from the Darkside, Monsters, and maybe also the Friday the 13th TV series. I don't see them on TV anymore.

Nope. Not even I checked out the RETURN sequels on Sci-Fi. Figure if they've got any juice at all, I'll watch the uncut DVDs.

The last time I watched a Sci-Fi "original?" Something called SNAKE KING with Eric Roberts. Well, go back and read Latte's post on the snake stuff. You know, every once in a while, somebody'll come up with a great slice of cheese like BOA VS PYTHON to make me happy. And then, like an idiot, I'll actually sit through SNAKE KING without being asked. Don't think I've revisited Sci-Fi since.

I DVR'd the two RETURN sequels, I have to warn you, I only survived 15 minutes. I don't even think the UNCUT DVD releases will do them justice. These are really bad "larger budget" S.O.V flicks. Everything felt lost from it's predecessors. Don't bother.

The latest Sci-Fi original is LOCUSTS: THE 8TH PLAGUE! And the PYTHON guy, Philip Roth, had something to do with it! And Jeff Fahey's in it somewhere!

And ten random minutes was enough to tell me what a stinkbomb it is! Hey, man, I like the animatronic/CGI giant snakes when the movie hits the right note, but all these dumbfucks waving their arms frantically while the computer paints grasshoppers darting all around them?

No way in hell am I sitting through this.

the only made for tv movie i liked that comes to mind was the "white shark" one...not as good as the book...but it wasnt to bad...
