It's pretty cool to know that both Nacho Cerda's "The Abandoned"(his first full-length feature film)and Mike Mendez's "The Gravedancers" are going to receive their theatrical shots at this coming weekend's event, making it(and giving us all) the rare opportunity for fans to see these two films(amongst many others)before they head straight to the DVD shelves(in the next four to six months).  :smoke:

Yeah, I couldn't go either. It was just a bit too far away... even I don't have the time to sit through eight theatrical films in one weekend... and it was my dad's birthday and a perfect opportunity to take him to see CASINO ROYALE.

So, as with Kimberly before me? Meet me at The Beaten Track instead.

One weekend only. Phooey.

I watched The Gravedancers the other night and didn't care for it at all. It sort of reminded me of The Frighteners, but without the over the top fun. There's at least one J-horror moment that I could have done without too. Maybe worth a rental but I wouldn't be rushing out to see it anytime soon.

Why is everyone talking in past tense?! It's running through Tuesday, so you have plenty of time. I saw Penny Dreadful in Auburn tonight. Movie was OK, it had it's moments but was pretty slow. The theater was really hard core about kids being in there. I guess they are all considered NC17 so they were in and out of the theater all throughout the movie kicking kids out. It was pretty annoying. The good thing about Auburn though, is that NONE of the employees had a clue. They were pretty much letting people stay for as many movies as they felt like. I only saw the one tonight but will probably go back tomorrow and Tuesday to the downtown theater. I hope the other movies deliver more, this one sure as hell wasn't too gory, graphic or disturbing for public consumption. Maybe a little too slow for it though.

Well, if you've got it through Tuesday, you're the exception--there are only two films left in the festival playing today (WICKED LITTLE THINGS and THE HAMILTONS). Oh, and I'm noticing official "R" ratings on a number of them, too. I'll have to catch up with them on DVD or some such--but please let us know how any of the other ones you see are.

Anyone manage to catch DARK RIDE in particular?

that is from the 8 films to die for website and fandango confirms it going through Tuesday for Alderwood, Auburn, Seattle and Puyallup.
Makes sense, they got to clear it out for Thanksgiving movies to come out Wednesday.

Maybe that was an Auburn thing. They kicked out a lot of kids but I thought at least one of them was with a parent. Maybe the little fella was just with his great big basketball playin girlfriend or something.
