Not quite what I expected but a classic none the less

I was wandering through the video store on Friday and just happend to stumble on a copy of Child's Play.
Ok for those of you who care to know I am a recovering Mormon and as such I have lead a very deprived life with regaurd to horror
So you can imagen my delight at finding this classic and knowing this would be the first time I had seen it!
Anyways I got home and after smoking one of my non filter camles I settled in to watch
I must say the story is slooow in developing and Chucky dosen't get enough time to be the psycotic killer he is which in my opinion is sad and alarming
Oh and I HATE that kid, you know Andy..whiny ass voice!
If Chucky had possesed him it would have been an improvement believe me.
Over all I give this film a 7 on the C.B. scale.
My reasons for this rating are
not overly shocking or violent
gotta love a classic
and bad cast choices

This is one of the few movies I saw in a theatre around this time, and I remember absolutely HATING it. And I never could bring myself to rewatch it or to check out any of the sequels. I'm not a huge slasher style fan to begin with, but when the killer is a wisecracking puppet? Nope, I just can't do it.

Well there's another point I am not to happy with
I was reading the back of the dvd and it states "killing rampage"
FOUR PEOPLE DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A RAMPAGE!
it doesn't even count as a spree...my feelings about that are that the death toll for a rampage should be at least ten
and a spree no less than five
Sorry but I do have my standards and I will keep them.

The first one is probably the best of the franchise. As the series "progressed" it got less and less serious, I couldn't bring myself to watch Seed of Chucky since Bride of Chucky was pretty bad overall. There were some one liners in the first one but I thought there was a good balance with humor and horror. Maybe someday I'll watch Seed, I did after all watch the first 4, hell I even enjoyed the first 3. "Don't fuck with the Chuck!" is his best line imo.

Seed is actually like one giant in-joke, so don't forgo it because of Bride. It has John Waters, which boosts any movie's quality level. I didn't like it too much, but it was a lot more fun than the previous 3 entries.
