It pains me to see only one thread here so I'll try to beef it up a bit by spreading this news I got the other day. National Amusements theaters are doing their "Attack of the B Movies" special program again, running every Thursday from now until just before Halloween. Here's a link to their page:

Last night I went to see Gorgo and Teenagers from Outer Space. At least one of the movies (TFOS) was direct from a shitty dvd so it didn't look great, but it was still fun and only cost $5 for both movies. They even started to show some old ads, including some spook show stuff in between the movies.
The down side? They didn't plan it well and with about 5 minutes to go in TFOS, people started filing into the theater looking to see Step Brothers. (I've seen both and it's debatable which one is more funny!) It kind of ruined the end of the night, since most of the people coming in totally didn't "get it", if you dig. They were totally making fun of the film, and not in a loving way. Still, I plan to go back next week and hopefully it won't happen again.

People have tried such programs here--the problem is they rarely get any response. Hopefully we'll get a chance to try again. Points for trying!DylanDog wrote:It pains me to see only one thread here so I'll try to beef it up a bit by spreading this news I got the other day. Huh... They're doing one in Revere. That's not TOO far from me. Maybe I'll hook up with this at some point. Not that I actually WANT to go to Revere. No one WANTS to go to Revere.
I don't think I've said much about it since I've been absent in these parts for some time but we were trying to get something like this rolling up here and the degree of apathy and indifference was enough to throw up our hands and give up. People were interested, they wanted to come but the people who could make it happen just didn't get it. We had a beautiful old theater lined up to host the show for NOTHING but our agreement went sour when he started emailing us daily to tell us how we were going to fail.
