See this movie.
Based on the Diaries of Che Guevara (played by Gael Garcia Bernal), this movie chronicles a trip he took with his friend Alberto Granado. It's both amusing and sad, and worth the money spent. It's gets a bit slow toward the end, but not terribly so.
Thing I thought was so amazing what how closely the film stuck to the true story. At the end of the film they show pictures of Che and Alberto along their trip, doing the same things that were portrayed in the movie. It's interesting how similar Gael looks to a young Che. He's great in this movie, and reconfirms why he's one of my very favorite actors.

Hmmm.... I was hoping someone would do this. It should be good, but I'd like to see it in Spanish still, with a spanish director. Ryan Gosling? I wonder what part he'll play. That guy is super cheesy. I like Benicio Del Toro, though. I guess we'll have to see.Lila Moss wrote:Yep, It was a great movie.

If I were in charge I'd have Garcia Bernal play Che again, and I'd have Pedro Almodovar produce and direct. But, (much to my disappointment) I'm not in charge.

Che was a socialist punk and as one that adheres to that ideology, he ultimately advocated the enslavement of mankind to the state based on the morality of altruism.
You can romaticize him and gloryify a psuedo image that he portrayed but at the end of the day a socialist is a socialist, and their system when allowed to be practiced has led to purges, starvation, prison camps and slavery to the state.
It's fitting he met such a violent end, since the root of a socialists ideology is the use of brute force to enslave people and create a tribal and communist hell for the inhabitants of a given geographical region to live under. He chose to live by the sword and so he also died by it.
later Che
