Episode III

Post by DrownJay »

Ok, yes, I know the first 2 prequels have been beyond lame. I watched the trailer for Episode III and this looks like it's gonna be off the hook! Apparently, it's the first Star Wars move to get a PG-13. Yea, Yea, PG-13 won't get us any extreme violence or nudity. But, it at least will be adding a new element, I hope.

I'm sure the hype and marketing machine is turning its gears and will be in full force shortly. So, people will be forced to think that this will be "the one". Going off that trailer though, this looks to be the best one yet, I could be wrong, I hope not.

I for one simply can't wait. I liked AOTC quite a bit and the trailer of Ep3 is promising looking. I must've watched it about 20 times now.

I never caught any of the Clone Wars on tv so I'm really looking forward to getting the DVD on Tuesday too. My friend went to go see season 3 in it's entirety and said it was superb. I may have to tape them all and then watch it all at once.

To get my little SW fix, this weekend I finally picked up a Millenium Falcon. $29.99 at KB Toys, versus $54.99 at TRU. :)

Me too! I can't wait to experience the dark side.

We want to get tickets to opening night, but nothing's posted on Cinerama or Fandango yet. Do you guys have any info?

I saw the preview 10 times in my geek class (computer animation), and it looks baddass! I probably won't see it in the theater, but whatever, I can't wait!

That all of the Star Wars films were released to the theatres in the month of May?

Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope - May 25, 1977
Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back - May 21, 1980
Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi - May 25, 1983
Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace - May 19, 1999
Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones - May 16, 2002
Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith - May 19, 2005

I was 14 when I saw the first film in 1977 in the theatre with a boyfriend. The sixth film being released and I'm now 42. That's a 28-year span from the first movie to the last. My how time flies when you're having fun.

I wish Kurt (NME666) could see the film. He was a big scifi fan like myself and I know he was looking forward to this one. RIP Kurt. I'll be thinking of you when I see the film.

It means that everybody celebrates your birthday. It wouldn't happen to be May 5, would it? :D

Cool! I bet your birthday lands on Mother's Day every few years, eh?

Now, back to our subject.

If anyone didn't catch Clone Wars Volume 2, Season 3 this week, I thought it was much better than Volume 1. It wasn't all non-stop action like the first and the story was better for it. Plus the ending really gets you jacked up for Episode 3, as it leads right into it.

So, I finally saw a tv spot for this...

Maybe it's because it's a spot and not a full trailer... but it looks just as crappy as the last two. Wait, I can't even say that because The Phantom Menance was so bad I didn't even see Attack of the Clones...

Regardless... the spot made me say eh...

Any one know where I can get a copy of the Phantom Edit? I've sort of been wanting to rewatch PM lately, but if I can watch a version that doesn't totally suck, all the better.

I bought tickets this morning!

Post by MetalGoddess »

That's right. I just bought 9 tickets online to the 10:30 p.m. show on May 19 at the Cinerama in Seattle.

All the family and friends going with us are dressing up as various characters. What geeks! :o

I'm going to go buy a Star Wars t-shirt for the occasion. That will have to do.

I'm a geek, but not THAT geeky! :llama:

If anyone cares, superhappyfun.com does have 3 different edits of the Phantom Menace. I've got two of them on the way. And AOTC has now been edited the same way. All this plus two TV series' in the works and it's an exciting time to be a SW fan.

All Ye Who Hath Seen Thee - Speaketh!

Thought it was alright myself. Same problems as the previous two - only the highs are higher and the lows ain't so low.

The way Annikin/Vader gets his? A crueler fate Argento could not demise! Beautiful stuff. I almost wept with joy.

Saw it at 12:01 last night, and it was most excellent. Definitely the best of the prequel trilogy.
