Mirrormask. Know this name. Experience this movie.

Written by Neil Gaiman and Dave McKean.
Directed by Dave McKean.
Produced by The Jim Hensen Company.

I guarantee this movie will be freaking incredible. The visual elements are going to blow my mind. They are saying that this is Labrynth meets Alice In Wonderland and I think this sounds like a good approximation.

The Varisty Theater in Seattle has this as an exclusive engagement for one week only starting Friday, October 7th.

Lord help you if you get a ticket and I do not :dsmoke:

You can see a trailer in the Preview section of the official site here:

I've been waiting on this one for so fucking long. With Gaiman being one of my favorite writers and McKean being one of my favorite artists, how could I go wrong?

Well, I saw the trailer a while back and I was disappointed to see more CGI than McKean's mixed media sculpture, but animation is a bitch and this movie probably didn't have the budget for proper puppetry.

I also guarantee that it will not play anywhere near me. I'm going to be bugging the local indie theaters near me to book it.

I think Dave McKean is great, that alone makes it worth seeing.

Henson Co, McKean and Gaiman...good christ, that's about all I've heard and that's enough for me. I'm fucking stoked !!!

I LOVE Dave McKean's work. I almost shit my pants when Stephen King had him do the art for The Dark Tower IV.

Thanks for the heads up. I didn't even know this was in the works, nevermind about to be released. Dave McKean is great. His work on "Arkham Asylum" has got to be the creepiest Batman things ever done. But with's with these two guys, are they joined at the hip or what? It's amazing how much work they've done together.
