Quite possibly the DVD news of the year?

As in not off. If you want to post about mainstream flicks, this is the forum.

Comedic interference - 12:03am

Proving once again the power of all those emails, letters, phone calls and petitions, MGM has heeded the of the Weird Al brigade, and on 6/4, will release a special edition of Al's cult fave UHF. Featuring new anamorphic widescreen and full screen transfers, the disc also sports plenty of great extras, including a new audio commentary by Al and Jay Levey plus surprise special guests, a new making-of documentary, deleted scenes hosted by Al, a still gallery with over 200 images, the "UHF" music video, production notes, and the original theatrical teaser and trailer. Retail is a mere $19.95.

Unless Criterion announce a 2 disc set of KING FRAT, then this may very well be the DVD news of the year (although I'm also pretty hyped about the upcoming Synapse special edition of BLUE SUNSHINE).

I've got to thank UHF (known in Oz as VIDIOT FROM UHF) as well as THE BURNING for my SEINFELD addiction.

Actually, I was kinda dissapointed that it wasn't a Gremlins 2 announcement, but I digress. This is excellent news. UHF is such a great film. Image

I got mine a couple days ago and it is AWESOME. The transfer is great and there are a ton of extras, including a couple of great Stanley Spedowski scenes that were cut.

The MSRP quoted earlier must be way off, I got it for 10 bucks at Best Buy.

Holy shit! 10 bucks? I'm gonna have to pick one up when I'm there later in the year.
