I saw it last night with Clark and it kicked ass. 300 is probably the most metal movie ever!

Yep, this fucking RULED! I'm going to have to track down the comic now. Honestly, I'm surprised I hadn't already read it anyhow, being that it's Frank Miller.
This movie was so hauntingly beautiful. It makes me wish they sold a filter for my camera that would have the same effect. You know, one that makes every man automaticlly naked, save some boots and a cloak. Wait... that's a different filter. Nevermind.
Seriously though, one shot that I was really impressed with was at the scene where both armies do the running slam into each other. Granted, that shot has been done in a hundred movies, but it was the shot of their feet at the moment of impact that I thought was especially cool and creative.
God, I can't WAIT to see how they do The Watchman now!

Here's my official review from Yahoo Movies.
I wanted a Battle movie...
I got that and more. let me start off by saying I like battle movies. My favorites are Braveheart, The 13th Warrior, and or course The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. (Honorable mention for Star Wars.) I go to the movies purely for entertainment purposes and it had better entertain me for 9 friggin dollars admission. This movie was a surprise. I liked it Alot! I would put it in my Top 5 of all time Battle films. Yeah theres alot of CGI, but that's the era we are living in and they made it Look GOOD. (If you dont think LOTR had alot of CGI you're dreaming.) The violence was insane in ths movie. I can't help but think by the time I got to the end of the movie I must have been desensitzed just a little bit. They take dismembering to an art form and I am not kidding. The females that came to the movie with us didn't like the sex scenes, but guess what? This movie is rated 'R' and deserves it's rating. Can't handle it? Stay home. As for people whining about historical inacuracies and calling it an attack on Iran (Persia); ENTERTAINMENT: a: amusement or diversion provided especially by performers <hired a band to provide entertainment> b: something diverting or engaging: as (1): a public performance (2): a usually light comic or adventure novel
Hmmm.... Adventure Novel? Like a GRAPHIC NOVEL? If it offends you, (And it should offend some people.. Read Rated 'R'!) Then Don't see it! Just don't begrudge others the chance to take our brain out, grab some popcorn, and enjoy a truly excellent battle movie. That is all. Attila has Spoken.

Thinkin' about seeing it a 3rd time, just so I can count how many times he says "SPARTA!!!"
I'm guessing it's 271 times. Each one with conviction though...

Awesome movie!!
We saw it last night. . . I only own 3 movies on DVD but this one will be added to my collection as soon as it comes out. I tend to be a cinematography dork when watching movies on the big screen and am very selective to what I spend my $9 on. . . . this one was worth every penny.
I just think that the persian overlord/ruler was a little too gay looking for my tasted buds but it fits with his vanity role. . .

Sounds like a drinking game in the works once it comes out on DVD
