X-men origins: Wolverine

Post by Darth Tanner »

I can't believe nobody has posted about this one yet. Certainly somebody has seen it besides me. Is it really that dead in here? :p

I loved the first two X-MEN movies and thought they were among the best superhero flicks ever made. The third one had it's moments but I didn't feel that it measured up to it's predecesors (should Brett Ratner be the one to blame for that?) I'd say that WOLVERINE is a better film that X-MEN: LAST STAND, but it still can't work the same magic that Bryan Singer did with the first two installments. Wolverine's backstory is an interesting one and it does fill in some of the gaps that were left unanswered by X2 (hopefully the upcoming MAGNETO film will answer some more). Plus, Gambit and Blob both get the big-screen treatment this time around.

As far as the cast goes.....Hugh Jackman once again does a terrific job as Wolverine and Danny Huston is great as the main villain. Ryan Reynolds is also on-hand, but at least his wisecracks aren't as plentiful as they were in BLADE: TRINITY.

If you are an X-MEN fan and haven't seen this yet, check it out and let me know what you think. But be sure to sit through the closing credits if you do decide to see it.
"I have existed from the morning of the world and I shall exist until the last star falls from the heavens. Although I have taken the form of Gaius Caligula, I am all men as I am no man and so... I am a God." - Malcolm McDowell, CALIGULA

I saw it and especially liked the first couple of creative kills, but I'm glad I saw it for free. I liked it, don't get me wrong, but it was a bit lack luster... Actually a fuck-ton of lack luster in comparison to the first two.

I didn't know they plan to make MAGNETO though. My ears are offically perked! Yeay!
I made the Devil do it.

i enjoyed considering how much they crammed into it...would have like to have seen a bit more of the weapon x program but to do it right they would have to make a whole movie...and make sure its an R rating...i think they did Gambit just right...would like to have seen more of deadpool pre weapon XI...but i hear they are going to give him his own spin off...and ryan reynolds is the perfect choice to play him...all around entertaining and fun...looking forward to the Magneto movie...

on a side note i highly recomend the Hulk Vs. Wolverine animated movie on dvd...
