Great (free) DVD database software

Post by Chris Slack »

It's called DVD Profiler and is available from http://www.intervocative.com/dvdpro/index.html

Just enter the UPC # (or title) and it will go out and pull down cover scans and info on the disc. Additionally you can upload your collection info to their site so you can have something like this: http://www.dvdprofiler.com/mycollection.asp?alias=Mortado to pass on to your friends. It's free but paying the registration fee allows you to get high-res cover scans and get rid of the ad banner. Check it out, I like it a lot!

Don't forget to check out our music site Gravemusic.com. Post on the new forums there while you are at it!

Yeah, its pretty nifty. You can even note down which DVDs have been lent out to who and for how long which comes in handy when you've got leeches constantly popping in and taking off with your prize discs.

Just make sure that you configure your settings so that adult titles aren't hidden or else people wouldn't be able to peruse your unrated titles online. No, I'm not talking about porn.

That's pretty neat Chris. I have to admit that your collection makes me jealous Image I'm going to have to download that program and put my collection in just so you guys can drool over my small DVD library Image

How is the Evil Dead Trap DVD? I was lookin' at it, but when I saw the movie it wasn't subtitled. I'm not sure if it'll be worthwhile or not...

Is it true the Henry DVD has the audio out of sync with the action?

I notice you don't have Schramm. If you liked the Nekromantik disc, you should get it!

Alright, I downloaded the software and put my entire collection in before uploading it. It was a snap since all you have to do is type in the UPC and the software does the rest. I also highly recommend this program to anyone that has a DVD collection. Even without paying the registration (which I may do eventually) this program still delivers plenty of goods. Just in case you guys are curious about what's currently in my DVD library:

The only other title I own that's not in there is the EC release (region 0) of CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD. That disc doesn't seem to have a UPC code and I can't find another way to put it in Image

I like it but if you didn't like it non subbed you might want to hold off, you're not missing a hell of a lot knowing what everyone says!

Yes, at times it is slightly off. There is also noticable artifacting at times as well, if you don't have it now I'd suggest holding out for a remaster. Unfortunately I haven't heard any plans for this yet

I'll end up with it eventually Image

That's a hell of a list you have got there! Is that "Island of Death" the PAL region free one? If it's NTSC where did you get it??? That's one DVD I have to get but my old Apex doesn't play PAL discs very well. Not sure how to help with adding the profile though, I have had bad luck with a few titles myself.

The Island of Death dvd is the Pal region free one. I have the same apex as you and it plays this title fine. The print is beautiful and the movie itself... WOW! Maybe if more of us on the forum use the data base we can help each other more with our questions and DVD conquests!!!

Orloff is that disc the one with the director's interview? Some Scandinavian mailorder company claims that's on the disc they sell. Think they're called Chainsaw video.

Yes this does have a 25 min directors interview as well as three songs from the film with music videos! The videos are just footage from the film.

But for those of you who haven't seen the film, don't look too much at the pictures since they pretty much spoil every good sleazy thing in the film...
