Four of the Apocalypse an underrated Fulci classic?

Post by ROBERT »

I'm not even into Euro westerns that much, but this film is certainly one of the maestro's very best. Great weirdo characterizations, Good acting, touching scenes.(in a Fulci film!!)It's even got the gore. Bloody shootings,a skinning and pinning of a sheriff's star onto his chest. This one's definite keeper. A great progressive transfer by Anchor Bay.With minimal wear and tear, on the print. An interesting couple of interviews are included with the DVD. It's now in my list of top 4 Fulci films.

Definitely. I mentioned in my post about Keoma that I've like the last few western I've seen and this is one the ones I had in mind. This might even be one of the most coherent films I've seen of his. The story is streamlined in a much more conventional way than the rest of his films I've seen. You know, scene A leads to scene B sort of thing! That's not always the case with Lucio, I'm afraid! Image

I really liked Massacre Time and it's in my opinion that Fulci's best movies were his non-horror pictures. I'm going to have to check this one out.
