not a bad idea, Chris... but...
I've long since lost all those mp3's. I'd have to re-rip all my Goblin discs, and solicit contributions from other forum members. Furthermore, bandwidth ain't cheap, as I'm sure you already know. We'd almost be better off using a P2P network like Kazaa (make sure you use the Lite version! no spyware!) or Soulseek (a personal favorite of mine lately).
And while we're on the subject, a HorrorNews meet might not be a bad idea, if it hasn't already been done. I'm probably SOL living on the east coast though, and would have to spring for airfare to Seattle
Just ordered Ichi the Killer from Poker Industries. Can't wait to check that one out. also ordered the record of lodoss war remasters!!

I'm not sure about Splatterhouse, but perhaps they just shut the site down while they all wait for their Sazuma orders to arrive. lol I'm not sure why, but it seems everyone on that board really supported those bums. I'd be more interested in knowing where the ol' Torture Network went to.
As far as a meet goes, that would be cool. I just hope the rest of you are more pro-active than people like myself and Dave Austin, who have managed to avoid each other for the last 3 odd years or so, despite living in the same town!

HA HA, Keymont! It's not for lack of trying...Anyhow, I'd be perfectly glad meeting up somewhere, but it's either you or me who pulls the Disappearing Act. Sorry if I never have time to hang out, but maybe this weekend...Fuck it, HALLOWEEN RESURRECTION is coming out and I'm dying to see it the way it deserves to be seen - With an All-Black Audience. You up for it, Dave? Can you handle the humor?

Valgamon: I sent the guy at Pokerindustries an email, I'm waiting to see if he has an uncut Ichi disk. I watched some of a chinese VCD and it's cut so bad that it's not even worth watching. It could easily pass with an R rating here in the states... and I just have to see it in all it's gory glory.

Just to go thoroughly off-topic for a moment, I have to say that Big Black is one of the greatest bands of all time, and probably was inspirational to more of modern music than they will ever get credit for. Mmmm.... Atomizer....Originally posted by David Austin

Poker Industries
I won the Ichi disc on Monday, and paid for it hours later via Paypal. I haven't gotten shit from Poker Industries since, except for a form email asking for payment. This is very unlike them, at least in my experience. I haven't ordered anything from them in a while, but it seems like they've really fallen off!!
to answer the question...
They closed down cause the in-fighting between the forum owner, the people there, and a bunch of bootleggers got so bad it nearly took over the site. No one talked about anything but the bootleggers, so he shut it down once and then reopened a week later, but it was still to crazy for him, so he shut it down for good. Too bad, as it was a good site. The strangest thing I ever saw on a forum

A few quick hits...
Nocturaloner - Yes, Big Black were probably the most amazing band to come out of the `80's, and their legacy shall stand as a monument to the Dream of 3 geeks (the godly Steve Albini, Santiago Durango, and Dave "Bitch Magnet" Riley) who wanted to fuck shit up. SONGS ABOUT FUCKING tops my list, mainly for the incredibly beautiful and deeply moving "Tiny, King Of The Jews."
Linn - I feel like shit for not inviting you out to Atlanta to hang with the Bad Atlanta Boys of HNews. If you can make it to Sunday's Mondo Movie Night at the Starlight, come on down and cause a ruckus. Just remember to get your car checked up and fuelled before you come...Moreland Ave. is NOT the street to get car trouble on.
Slaughterhouse.net was a damn good site, and I'm sorry to see all the trouble that went down. They had great reviews and a cool forum. It will be missed.

I personally will shed no tears over the demise of Splatterhouse. They gave me my first and only "Sazuma Experience" by making it seem as if Sazuma was actually legit. No matter how great they were otherwise, there's no living that down. The thought of them being overwhelmed by bootleggers is strangely poetic.
David- SAF is my favorite as well, but I also have the Peel Sessions 7", which in addition to Newmangenerator, has a version of El Dopa on it that will kick your ass through the wall. I really need to get it archived on cd.

David...
I saw your post too late!! Everytime I've been by the Starlight, they aren't showing anything! I know they show some cool stuff every once in a while. You've got to keep me up on the ATL. scene! I live in Macon, so it's not too far. And trust me, I know Moreland Ave. is NOT the street to get stuck on!! Damn that Savage pizza is great down there though!! Drop me a line: wielandAThotmailDOTcom

Big Black ...Cocks?
Is Big Black that band lead by that dude who looks and acts like he was molested as a kid? I think I saw a music video of theirs once.
Linn, you need to come to the drive-in on the third Sunday of every month. That's when Mondo Movie night is. This Sunday is a double bill with Zombies Of Mora Tau and The Creature With the Atom Brain. You can keep yourself up to date by checking their site at:
http://www.starlightdrivein.com/index.html
It used to be that the site was never updated until the day of the show, but they've been pretty good about it this year so far.

Griff - Yep, THAT's the Big Black we know and love. You must be referring to "Jordan, Minnesota."
Linn - Drop either me or Dave a buzz between now and Saturday and we'll try to meet up somewhere before the show. I could go for some Savage Pizza, too...Fellini's is a fun place to annoy people when they sit outside and feed pizza to their dogs (a cruel thing to do to your pets considering that grease, pepperoni, and cheese does evil things to Canine intestines)...but Savage Pizza wins out when it comes to quality food.

Well, I personally never cared for Savage Pizza too much, but I guess it's 2 against 1.
LT, I don't know what to tell you other than yeah, you're missing out. Like I said before, maybe you should plan a vacation around Labor Day for the annual DriveInvasion. Although there's been no official word yet, I hear there may be several Ted V. Mikels movies playing......but you should come anyway.

Hey guys...
looks like I ain't going nowhere! My truck just died and Linn ain't got no money to get it fixed!! Well maybe next time! Keep me in mind and if you ever want to see the biggest kung fu collection in your lives, you should come down to macon some time. BTW, ever been to the paper chase? It's a place that sells posters and videos in he ATL.
Paper Chase
Yeah, I'm at the Paper Chase all the time. My friend works there and I often go there for lunch or when I have spare time away from work. That place is awesome because lunatics are always coming in so it's a great place to hang out. If you ever see a skinny guy with glasses in a Terminix uniform there, that'll be me.
Sorry to hear you won't be able to make it this weekend. I'm really looking forward to it as I think it's the first time this year that they are showing two movies I haven't seen yet.
