This is basically for Iam138 (as he's local) but I was hoping some of you might take a look at http://www.seattlefilm.com and make some suggestions.
This years fest is nowhere nearly as good as last years but there are still some movies I want to see.Tickets go on sale to the general public on May 13th, they're on sale now to Seattle Cinema members. Here's what I am gonna see for sure:
Friday May 24th 6:30 PM Egyptian
Teenage Hooker Became Killing Machine In Daehakroh
South Korea, 2001
When a teacher discovers one of his teenaged student’s streetwalking, he blackmails her into becoming his sex slave; when she becomes pregnant, the monster hires hitmen to off her, then slice and dice the corpse. A twisted Dr. Frankenstein fashions what’s left into an unstoppable cyborg, and soon RoboHooker is hot on the trail of her killer! Wide-angle shots, gore, weird lighting, guns: "Teenage Hooker" has it all, and more.
Saturday May 25th Midnight Egyptian
Versus
Japan 2001
Gloriously gory splatterfest, this Japanese martial arts epic pits zombie yakuza against escaped convicts in a forest where the dead come back to life. There are many deliberate references to movies like "Night of the Living Dead," "The Evil Dead," and "The Matrix," and a lot of hokum about resurrection and the power of the dead. But that's all just an excuse for over-the-top fight scenes, sword wizardry, and other ominous feng shui signs.
Saturday June 1st Midnight Egyptian
Monday June 3rd 930 PM Egyptian
Uzumaki
No description given but this is a kickass Japanese horror flick, full of atmosphere and surprises.
Friday June 4th Midnight Egyptian
Killer Tattoo
(Mueu Puen Loke Pra Chand)
Thailand, 2001
Chaotic Bangkok, 2012. When an inept hitman’s hired to rub out police chief Iron Cop, he assembles a crew of right nutbags, who naturally screw up so royally another assassin is sent to off them. In a truly crazed climax, rival hitmen and one very buff American hitwoman duke it out bigtime. Running on high-octane fun and genre-spoofing, this wild-eyed rock ’n’ roll action comedy won instant cult status.

Thanks Robert, I didn't even notice those! Here's three more for the list then, this is shaping up to be a better one than I originally thought
Agitator
Japan, 2001
Dir. Miike Takashi
6/7 9:30 pm, Pacific Place Cinemas
6/9 4:00 pm, Pacific Place Cinemas
This masterly gangster epic from the director of "Audition" (SIFF 2000) turns the yakuza genre on its ear, delving into the labyrinthine web of loyalty and male bonding that underlies the most intense of all Japanese "family ties". Miike himself plays a gangster who triggers a war between competing yakuza factions, touching off a spiraling tornado of violence that rivals "The Godfather" in sheer cinematic panache.
Happiness of the Katikuris
Japan, 2001
Dir. Miike Takashi
6/8 9:30 pm, Pacific Place Cinemas
6/10 4:30 pm, Cinerama
Been hankering for a good old-fashioned musical/horror/soap opera/comedy? Hanker no more! The prolific Miike Takashi (seven films this year alone) provides the perfect tonic with this deeply distorted story about a disfunctional family who open a lodge in the mountains. Trouble is, the guests keep turning up dead -- or worse. With any luck, you’ll see no other movie like it this year!
Dark Water
Japan, 2002
Dir. Hideo Nakata
6/14 9:30 pm, Egyptian Theatre
6/15 9:30 pm, Egyptian Theatre
In this unnerving new psycho-thriller from the director of "The Ring" and its chilling first sequel, an attractive divorcee and her 6-year-old daughter are cast against the demonic forces gripping a creepy, old Tokyo apartment building. Based on an original story by Koji Suzuki, known as "the Stephen King of Japan," this deeply unsettling film firmly establishes its director at the forefront of the Japanese cinematic New Wave.

Uhm, are these likely to sell out? I don't wanna drive to Seattle to buy tickets. That's so much effort...and I'm a pathetic loser like Fritz Haarman.

I'm sure some of them will, the midnight showings of "Wild Zero" and "Battle Royale" sold out well in advance last year. If you order your tickets by credit card via the phone or net they will have all your tickets waiting for you at the first movie you go to. I have to get more because my mom and dad (?!?) want to go to "Dark Water" with me!Originally posted by I am 138:
