Of the 8 classic Universal black and white film horror monsters named below, which particular one seriously or humorously scares (or once used to) you the most (or would if you met them) and please give your reason/s why ?
Frankenstein and the Bride of Frankenstein.
Dracula.
The Wolf Man.
The Invisible Man.
The Creature from Black Lagoon.
The Mummy.
The Phantom of the Opera.
Which Universal classic horror monster scares you the most and why ?
None of them scare me. In fact, the only Universal classic I ever remember finding scary was Dracula at the age of 5. And even that wasn't the whole movie, I was afraid of seeing Dracula bite Harker in that scene where Harker is on the ground.
My favorites would be:
Wolf Man - can't really explain why
The Creature - because he's just awesome
and I think in terms of design, Karloff's mummy, though I don't actually like the movie very much.

I guess of the one's listed, I'd say the Mummy. It's my second favorite Universal Horror film (2nd only to The Old Dark House) and I just love Karloff's creepy performance. I used to have the 8mm condensed version as a kid and used to always watch it on my bedroom wall. It scared the crap outta me.
The Invisible Man doesn't seem to get quite the recognition the others do, but I think he's pretty scary too. Too bad that godawful Una O'Connor is in his movie ruining things. Sometimes I'd like to go back in time and kill that annoying bitch before she got the chance to lessen the greatness of some of these classics.

Man, it seems you and I always have the opposite opinion doesn't it? I could have sworn it was O'Connor who completely ruined Mark of the vampre for me, but I guess it wasn't. There was a similar hysterical woman in that one for comic relief that was just atrocious. I nearly couldn't watch the whole thing because of her.
