Chronicles Of Riddick

Post by stypees back »

I have nothing good to say about this film, well, the effects were fair. Other than that this is the biggest piece of shit this year. I'm almost promising a spot in the RASBERRY AWARD arena.. Worst film of the century so far.

Save your buckage.. Fucking sucks!

So pissed I agreed to see this.

crash and burn

Post by Scott »

I have yet to see this. I enjoyed Pitch Black so I'll likely catch Riddick. However, based on its opening weekend box office tally, the wreckage around Vin Diesel is becoming harder to ignore. The film only took in 24 million opening weekend. Riddick probably won't go much farhter than the 40 million garnered by Pitch Black. Riddick's budget was close to 120 million, already shaping up to be the second biggest bust of the year behind The Alamo.

Vin Diesel's last couple of movies also tanked. He really screwed up when he declined to take part in 2 Fast 2 Furious.

Went to go see the original Godzilla last night and overheard some guys just bashing the hell out of this. I wasn't particularly impressed with Pitch Black and if this is even worse, I won't even consider it.

im really suprised some people were even giving this a chance, Vin is Arnold without the catchy one liners and cool accent, but seriouslly after watching 20 minutes of XXX i decided it wouldnt be worth it to see any of his movies, how was that cop drama/action film he was in?

It's really one of those films that words can't express how bad it is. Vin Diesel couldn't act his way out of a paper bag; Arnold is Oscar worthy compared to him and to think Vin is coherent. There was no excuse for this film, it was truly a travesty. I only went because my friend agreed to see SAVED! (which is brilliant by the way) with me, so we caught two films on the same day. The theatre was packed (during RIDDICK) and there was a small patch of people next to us just howling away, I couldn't figure out if they were going MSTK3000 on it's ass or actually enjoying it.

When we exited the theatre not one person passed a good comment. It was like a host of Andrew Dice Clay fans started emerging towards the exits shouting obscneties.

What's worse is that it's pretty obvious they cut allot of shit out to get a PG-13 rating plus it felt as if the film was supposed to be longer; I've heard actually fans of the film saying that it might get a 3 hour DVD release. People on the net actually LIKED this piece of shit. It's completely unforgivable, not even worth a rental. PITCH BLACK I enjoyed, this will piss you off and scream for your 10 bucks back.

Seriously, if you can, see SAVED! it's really a great film. Went over so many people's heads.

I saw an anime yesterday called Riddick: Dark Fury. It was by Peter Chung, the guy responsible for Aeon Flux and a couple of the bits from Animatrix. I thought it was pretty awesome.

Yes--that's Universal's latest deal... animated "prequels" to go with their new genre releases--and both this and VAN HELSING: THE LONDON ASSIGNMENT have better reputations than their big-screen counterparts!

Oh, and you did notice that they re-released the first Riddick film on DVD as THE CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK: PITCH BLACK?

Tell me... do I REALLY have to go see this one? It's not that close to "horror," is it? Can I skip this RIDDICK and still be a completist?

NO, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SEE THIS ONE.. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO RENT THIS ONE, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE CURIOUS ABOUT THIS ONE. YOU SHOULD STAY AWAY FROM THIS FILM LIKE THE PLAGUE.

Okay, but I just got my Riddick cartoon in the mail and I WILL be reviewing that... this way I get to stay on Universal's publicity list!

I saw Riddick last night and I loved it. It was stupid and goofy and the physics of the planet Crematoria didn't make a whole lot of sense, but it was an exciting action movie with some really good special effects.

Riddick is a cool character, he's a lot like Snake Plissken in a lot of ways, and Escape From New York being my favorite movie, that character type is something I like.

It's not terribly original, but I thought it was a fun movie. Hollywood hasn't turned out much in the way of quality cheese in a long time, and this is something I can definitely appreciate.

Word.

I thought it was pretty good.

But don't sit through it right after sitting through Harry Potter. You'll get an ass ache.
Let's ask him, what's the deal?
