The Underground Comedy Movie

Post by Demolition Hammer »

After seeing a ton of late-night commercials for this movie, I finally decided to get it to see if it was as funny as the commercials made it seem. It's not. In fact, it's even worse. The few amusing bits in the commercials are the only chuckle-inducing parts of the movie, and there are no real laughs, unless terrible filmmaking tickles your funnybone. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

On a related note, I have a barely-watched copy of The Underground Comedy Movie on DVD for sale.
I have to return some videotapes.

It's not British, the filmmaker is Californian. If it were British it might have been funny.

Dice isn't in it. The big names are Michael Clark Duncan, Gina Lee Nolin, Slash and Joey Buttafuoco.
I'll let you borrow it. Or have it.
I have to return some videotapes.

I just finished writing a review for this piece of shit a couple of days ago on GREENCINE. This film is UNWATCHABLE! It felt like some spoiled dude got a bunch of money and was given it to make a film.

It's apparently based on a so-called Public Access series from the 80's.

Unwatchable is dead-on. In the bonus features there's one of the public access show skits, it was called The Underground Comedy Show, hence the title of the movie. The skit on the DVD is just as unfunny as the movie.

edit: I read your review, Stypee and you've written it perfectly.

lol, yep.

I never saw the trailer for the movie, Brad kept seeing commercials for it when I was in another room or something and he was always telling me about it. It sounded cool to me. But it seems that no one liked it.
