COOL! Do Mike Myers and Eddie Murphy host the supplements?

Zombie Doom
C.H.U.D
Mystery Science Theater 3000 Vol.1

I'll wait for Lion's Gate to release Haute Tension, it's going to be uncut still but better quality I think.

You'll probably want to direct your attention to Japan in the late 80's, early 90's. Barnone, some of the most explicit, goriest movies I ever saw came from Japan around that time. Seriously, some of that shit made me wonder just what the fuck was wrong with Japanese people. Kichiku, Entrails of a Virgin and Naked Blood are movies I wish I could erase from my memory.

They're not necessarily good movies, by any means. But if all you want to see is people getting killed and abused in horrible ways, Japan is the way to go.

I'd recommend the book Eros In Hell as a decent reference for this scene of flicks, but a lot of them are god damn impossible to track down.

Naked Blood indeed is some sick shit. I only got it for like $7 on dvd off ebay. I still remember every little detail in that one scene where the woman eats her self. Great movie except the ending does not make sense and some weird sex scenes with a cactus gets too ridiculous.

There's also Premutos. Lots of gore all throughout the film. The last 30 minutes of the movie is just people killing a bunch of zombies. Almost as gory as Dead Alive/Braindead. I've read review about this movie, Lief Jonker's Darkness, being gorier than Braindead...I'll have to see it myself.

Many people are divided on Darkness. Personally, I really enjoyed it for a very low budget film. It's not as gory as Premutos, but I do think it's better.

As far as more Japanese gore, I probably should have offered my copies of Niku Daruma and Ayajime with the other VHS tapes I was selling. I forgot I had them. They appeal to me now mostly on a "I have these and you don't!"-level. They are pretty shitty movies but have some decent gore, especially the 2nd half of Niku Daruma (1st half is straight up porn). They are certainly sick-minded, if not good.

Of course, if you haven't seen The Untold Story, you need to. It's classic.

Just grabbed the Dawn of the Dead SE and The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra last night.

Not dvds, but I also got some other decent horror related stuff recently.

For comics, Walking Dead 1-10 (probably the best zombie comic since Deadworld) and NOTLD: Barbara's Zombie Chronicles (picks up where NOTLD '90 left off with Barbara's adventures with the rednecks. Not a bad idea.)

Also got a halloween mask, a Pakistani 1sheet poster for Luther The Geek and a Devo hat. :)

Right now Blockbuster is having a deal where they will give you $5 store credit for ANY DVD you bring in. I took a fuckload of crap in there and got a ton of credit, so I decided to stock up on a shitload of pre-viewed horror flicks I haven't seen.

Bonesnatcher
Midnight Mass
Legend of Hell House
Dark Heaven

......fuck there's a slew of roughly 10 flicks which I intend to burn through and return the shitty ones immediately for the store credit once again.

This is a good fucking deal folks (in my opinion), so I've temporarily lifted my band on blockbuster (they're owned and run by crispies, thusly why you'll never see The Last Temptation of Christ in one of their stores......fuck I hate christians).

Zombie
Dead Alive
This is Spinal Tap

I thought Zombie was pretty damn cool. Dead Alive really caught me off-guard. That movie is pretty gory and at the same time funny as hell! So many classic moments. :metalhead

Spinal Tap is, of course, a total classic. On this version, there's an extra hour and 45 minutes of footage. Pretty cool for SP freaks like myself. :)

While I have a soft spot for the hockey mask, I can't forsee myself buying the Friday boxed set. I really only like the first three or four. So it would be totally sweet if Paramount would release each of the eight set movies in an individual special edition package so I can pick and choose which ones I'd like.

Word. I think the story is summed up nicely in the first 4, and Part 7 is so badass, but the other ones are pretty useless. I have 7 on DVD, I don't think there are any extras, but at least it's widescreen. I can totally foresee a hockey mask that you can open up that has all 10 of the movies in a neat case, kind of like the Iron Maiden Eddy head box set thing. That would be rad. Pricey, but rad. :metal:
