Have read alot of good things about this film so I was really looking foward to seeing this...

Watched it last night...


*****SPOILER SPACE*****





Slow to start and then there's the bedroom scene which was GREAT!! Thought it was some creepy shit... in fact my husband was ready to go off to bed and when that happened I told him he wasn't going anywhere... cause I was spooked from it. Then we got some more freaky shit going on with the whole under the sink part... and then the movie changed. I thought it went in a completely different direction from spooky ghost movie to watching the young girl's madness unfold... all the while saying to myself wtf is going on because it did get confusing in some parts (the whole deal with the stepmother... and the bag, etc)... at the end explaining it and tying it together... but the parts that didn't make sense to me left me still wondering what happened.

The film itself was really lovely to look at... and the use of sound was really good too. I think it's something that I need to watch again to better understand...

I'm torn on this one...

I'm not. It sucked. Sure, it was nice to look at. The chicks were hot and the house had a nice creepy aesthetic to it, but it was not scary at all, ever. Nor was it original in any way. And if I wanted to spend a bunch of time looking at feet, I would take off my socks. I haven't seen that much attention paid to feet since 1965's "The Embalmer". WTF? You got at least 3 hot girls in this movie and all you can show me is their feet?!?! I think I'm officially through with Asian horror.

I'm with you, Dave. Aside from a couple of key entries into the genre, Asia has convinced me that it's no better than America when it comes to producing formula driven horror movies. You've seen one, you've seen them all.

Yeah, I'm sure I'll continue to try bits here and there, but as they say, "the thrill is gone". I was also just particularly angry at this one as I drove an hour each way and had to pay for parking to see it. Then the theatre was cold and I ended up feeling sick to boot.
