I like the first Toxie flick and Class of Nuke 'em High but the rest of their stuff doesn't do much for me. I do give them props for releasing *non-Troma* movies like Redneck Zombies, Combat Shock and Bloodsucking Freaks on DVD though.

I generally hate Troma, but they do have their occasional moments. Mostly when releasing things they themselves didn't make. I was at a dvd store the other day and noticed that they have released Luther The Geek though. Anyone got this disc? Opinions?

Yes, yes, yes. All the Toxie's are great and certainly worth a look. "Killer Condom" is a must see as far as I'm concerned. "Cannibal: The Musical" gets better with repeated viewings. Ah, there is too much to list. Kim's assessment is right on the money: some of it is crap, but worth sifting through to find those gems.

I have it on my NetFlix queue so I can check out the transfer before I buy it. They are really hit and miss when it comes to their mastering so I don't want to take a chance of wasting money.

Yeah, I know but they are still household favourites! I think 'Terror Firmer' was the last actual Troma film I've seen. Any recent recommendations good sir?

I fucking love troma

check out "Terror Firmer" and "Tromeo and Juliet" first off. "Decampatated" is pretty good too. Yes they put out a lot of videos that others make, so what? At least someone is putting them out. Fuck let's see New Line put out "Teenage Cat Girls in Heat". good luck with that.

Cannibal the Musical is one of my favs, too bad they didn't make it. Really liked Combat Shock too, although they didn't make that either. I've been meaning to check out Troma War, I hear it's pretty brutal.

I've seen cannibal the musical, tromeo and juliet, and of course the toxic avenger. I like what I've seen.

I just read in FANGO that the "Luther The Geek" transfer is for shit but what from Troma isn't?

They're putting out a 21st Anniversary Toxic Avenger disc.. This should be interesting.

I heard somewhere that they weren't doing so well.. anyone confirm this?

Hell yeah I like Troma!

Post by Wrathchild862000 »

Fulcifan, awesome man! Do a kick ass job and help contribute to the greatness that is Troma.

Anywhom, to answer the original question, hell yes! The Toxic Avenger movies are legendary, Class of Nukem High is great, Sgt. Kabukiman is so damndably funny, and there are too many great ones to mention. But yeah, Troma rules. Plus, they released Argento's Stendhal Syndrome, so that's another plus for them. :metalhead

Right on! Thank you all for giving me some suggestions and insight. I am developing a love for really bad horror movies. These all sound like films I would like to check out. I thought redneck zombies was great, but probably only because my guitar player is from Virginia. He's actually from the county below where the CMT special on Moonshine was filmed. If you haven't seen it, it's worth a watch. Hehehehehehe.
