William Peter Blatty. The writer or all 3 original movies, and director of Exorcist 3 has openly protested this movie being made. Exorcist 3 is my favorite horror film.....I believe in slime, and stink. And in every stinking crawling thing.......You Son of A bitch!
Fuck Exorcist 4!

Care to speculate why Roger-Dodger liked it better than Renny Harlin's? Enough for a thumbs-up?

I haven't seen it, so I'm just asking.
My dog's breath smells like peanut butter...

...and I don't even have a dog!

My husband and I have been trying to figure that one out the last two days...

Maybe he was on crack?

While Roger's reviews are, for the most part, crap... every now and then he'll be spot on with one... and I mean he is partly responsible for Beyond the Valley of the Dolls... so I'm not as hard on him...

The film should of been straight to video... I can not stress how awful it was. I now have a new runner for worst film for 2005... it makes Elektra look like Citizen Kane...

Brad Dourif rules! I think his greatest role....
I like that 3 was creepy and well paced without being visually shocking. I think Blatty did an awesome job of creating the mood in that movie and not relying on gore and shocking the audience like the first one (not that the first one was bad, it ruled too!)
I like the old lady that kills the priest in the beginning, in the confessional.
...I met this waitress, down in Candlestick park, I cut her throat and watched her bleed. She bled a great deal. It's a problem I've been working on, Father....all this bleeding...

So, what's up with the one that is in video stores now? I don't remember the name of it but it was titled as the prequel to the Excorcist as well. I didn't remember seeing it in theatres so it may have gone straight to video. All I know is that I rented it twice and fell asleep both times....

That would be Renny Harlin's Exorcist: The Begining...

That mere fact alone wouldn't surprise me,since Roger has given some extremely oddball Thumbs Up choices in the last ten years(awarding "Dark City" as Best Film of the Year[!!!!],giving three stars to "The Manson Family",enjoying "Scary Movie" but hating the sequels, etc.),yet slammed the recent "teaxs Chainsaw massacre" remake for being too grisly and violent(wait until he sees "The Devil's Rejects",for that upcoming film oughta give Roger plenty of sheer nightmares.

And it's funny about "Dominion:The Exorcist(Prequel)" that it's getting a very puny release, yet there'll be over 10 millions copies of that film on nearly every nationwide video rental shelf within the next four to six months. And although I have yet to see it,I kinda had that funny feeling that Paul Schrader's vision was more closer to "Exorcist III" than we could ever imagine.

I haven't seen it and I won't, but people who have seen it that I have talked to said it was nothing like 3. Someone said it was a pathetic attempt at bringing the mood, but without tallent that is not possible (I.E. George C. Scott, Brad Dourif and William Peter Blatty) Schrader should stick with Playboy soft core
